Into The Wild;

The true story of a twenty something man that graduates from college and decides to leave his privileged background to wander the American wilderness. Encoutering wildlife and people that change his perception of life.

A really good film that only lets itself down with a slightly confused narrative at times. Some great cinematography and an inspiring story. The scene where he briefly comes into a city after living for months in the wilderness is very well done. He looks at home in the wilderness with a shaggy beard, rugged clothes and unsure of human contact but upon entering the metropolis he is treated with suspicion and looks out of place because out of the wild he looks like any other homeless person on the street with his dirty face, beard and stuffed backpack.

With great original music by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam this is worth 2 hours of anyones time. Recommended.

Only joking Nibble.

Dan in real life.

This one passed me by when it was released but I am glad my good friend Nibble recommended it to me.

It is a poigant tale of a middle aged man somewhat lost in the World, much like me in many ways, except he is better looking who is left after his wife has died to bring up his 3 daughters one of whom is troublesome and the trials and tribulations of a good man trying his best to bring up his family.

I particularly like the first reel when he woke up , realised his life was still reality and let off a big sigh before summoning up the strength to get out of bed. I can relate to that at the moment as well.

He meets a gorgeous woman, Juliette Binoche never looking more foxy who steals his heart but the rub is she is his brothers girl.

The whole family meet up for a vacation and activities occur with the backdrop of Dan wanting but not be able to have said girl.

Their attraction wins through in the end and the good guy get his girl.

Life affirming, affection and warm with some very funny scenes and a tale of one door closes and another one opens which is a lesson for all to learn.

I could relate to this film in many ways and very much liked it.

It could be viewed as overly sentimental but if you are in the right mood you can get into it. I liked the scene where the family all do their party pieces and he sings the song with his brother.

That was the winner for him. Heart felt and the girls heart melted. Women like that sort of shit :thumbsup:

Paranormal Activity

All I can say is well done this film is now my worst film of all time.

It is COMPLETE AND UTTER TURD from start to finish. It is about a girl who is haunted and follows them for 3 weeks in the haunted house with boyfriend and a camcorder, night 1 - not much happens, night 2 - a door slams, night 5 - the duvet ruffles , day 17 - a light goes on and off - FFS, it is BORING and just dreadful and pointless. Made for
$ 5000 all I can say is what a waste of $ 5000. It made $ 109 000 000 at the US and
£ 9 000 000 at the UK box office so well done to the " director " and marketing department for mugging so many people, stories of it being the most scary film of all time, I have had scarier moments checking my bank statement. Similar to The Blair Witch project, it makes Blair Witch look like a cinematic masterpiece and compared to Cloverfield it makes Cloverfield look like the greatest film ever made.

AVOID, you will not get the money or half and a half of your life back. I am normally generous with films but this just made me angry that something so sHIT could have taken so many people for chumps.

The worst film of all time.
