'The release date of the FIFA 12 demo was announced at the Gamescom event in Germany on 16 August; the demo will be available from Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Store and EA's Origin Store for Microsoft Windows on 13 September 2011, though the Playstation 3 demo will not be available in Europe until the following day.'

source is wikipedia but it has generally been realiable for this over the years.

These are happy days for us PC gamers too, EA have finally made FIFA on the PC the same as the console version. So you 360/PS3 losers can continue your pointless arguments about which is the better machine while you get owned by the power of most gaming PCs :fishing:

I won't get the demo - I know I'm going to be buying it in a couple of weeks, and I'm in the middle of Deus Ex

Surprised that EA don't put out a stadium designer tool for budding creative fanatics of local teams. Could even set it up so EA take a cut of potential download fees- say individual creates AMEX, costs £2 to download and embed into game, EA takes £1 of that..

Or even do it themselves, can't be that difficult to mock one up surely! As far as I'm aware, it doesn't impact on the actual gameplay coding...

I take it all back about the superiority of the PC. Stupid EA have made it so you have to uninstall FIFA 11 to play the demo of 12. How retarded is that? Oh well only two weeks without a full version of FIFA.

New PES demo out tomorrow too. I actually think PES is going to be as good as Fifa this year. I just hope FIFA has sorted the AI so it's not so staggeringly dull in single player.

The earlier PES demo that came out a couple of weeks ago was atrocious

Just played a few games, bear in mind that FIFA 11 on the PC was effectively FIFA 10 with a few added features so these comments may not all be accurate for console owners.

Defending, more difficult so far, but the new features seem to make sense. The way you have to defend now will be much more like real football, ie blocking space, jockeying dribblers etc. Once you get the hang of it, it seems like it will be very good.

The speed of the game seems a bit slower, when you are clean through on goal for example you have more time to think about what you are going to do. The same for the speed the ball travels when you pass it, before you could knock it around you entire team really quickly, now it takes a bit of time to get there. I think they have done this to allow for the new precision dribling, but how this works is not really explained in the demo.

Shooting seems a bit more sensitive too. It is really easy to drag shots wide, with a bit of practice they come easily enough though, and shots feel a bit more solid this time, like someone has just kicked a football which was not always the case before.

Penalties are completely different with a bar in which you have to stop the cursor at the right time for the correct power, as with the shots it is much easier to put them wide or over. I still have not worked out how to make my keeper dive either. I know the controls are probably listed somewhere but I can't be bothered to search.

Overall I am very impressed with the gameplay, and the graphics are a huge leap forward on the PC. Even the commentary works better than normal, not that I will ever have it on when I have the full game. WARNING Andy Townsend is one of the co commentators.
