:D :D I was only joking, that night was a disgrace. I always remember that little kid with his grandfather after they had been evacuated onto the pitch. Really shameful. From what I've read there was a huge undercurrant associated with the game and a lot of people had turned out to view things along political lines rather than footballing ones.

As far as not playing each other goes, I would largely put that fown to the fact that Ireland have only qualified for one major tournament in the last 10 years. There was a time we used to get drawn together every single tournament.

In the mid 90s, Ireland could probably have rolled us over but these days we are far superior in pretty much every department and would win home or
away about 3-1.

Last ten years? - World Cup 1994, World Cup 2002. We qualified for both. Short memories, eh?

And also, I doubt you'd draw, let alone win against Ireland these days. You're not a superior team, despite having a large number of better players, the primadonna factor comes in...

Check the rankings. Notice how we're 4 places behind you. With a much, much smaller country...

I'm Dyspraxic. Doesn't stop me (generally) spelling things correctly.

And I don't use a spellchecker for web posts either.

TBF, I consider calling me BRITISH is a racial insult against my person as I'm ENGLISH and to call me a BRIT gives rise to connotations of never getting past the first round of a major tournament and choking against Russia in a playoff.

I much prefer to be recognised as someone who is all to familiar with penalty shootout agony.

America is a much, much bigger country...

this proves size isn't important. :lolol:

Exactly. The rankings are what matter, and we're close enough to you to make things somewhat hard for you to beat us

Also, considering how hugely Duff has improved for Chelsea since the last Ireland game he played, that could be interesting next time out....

I've just checked the date on my computer and it says: 22/12/04. Now, by my guess, USA 94 was played in June/July. Therefore, 10 years ago it was 22/12/94. Between the period of 22/12/94 and 22/12/04, how many major tournaments did Ireland qualify for? If I'm not mistaken it was just the one, where you were very unlucky to lose on penalties to Spain.

Ireland would not beat England in a competetive fixture these days. FACT. The days of McGrath, Tiwnsend, Houghton, Irwina dn Roy Keane in his pomp are long gone. Ireland's main striker can't get in past England's third or fourth choice striker at Spurs.

and rugby side as well all in all you are ahead of us ENGLISH in exactly nothing

Eh?

I believe WE won the Triple Crown this year, not England. Which suggests that, oh, what do I hear here?

England LOST to Ireland.

You reckon, you have an ageing team who are not actually that good how many of you players play in the top flight????

For the first time in how many years?

And who are WORLD champions? How many finals have you been to? Or semis? In fact, have you ever made the quarters in a sport with only about 12 playing nations? :lolol:

Err, most of them basically. Not all in the ENGLISH top flight, though - Ireland, Scotland and Spain included though.

Compare the club to how often the player plays. Yes, theres a few Barnsley players, etc. Most of them don't play very often...

No. Was seen as too English a sport, hence not played much

Oh, and no matter what you've won in the past

Last time we played you, we beat you. Can't change that.
