MYOB iput it to you that you don't particually like us Brits and have some issues that you may like to discuss with a therapist b4 attending another football match...seems like you have some growing up to do.

Remember our FIFA ranking. Notice how damn close it is to yours....

Remember the scoreline last time we played England

Jealousy - I think not. We could have England any time we wanted to (probably, assuming Roy was willing to play that day....)

:lolol:

Don't kid yourself.

Jealous indeed.

I don't know what it is about the Irish. They have a fascination with 'going on better'. :lolol:

Firstly, I've no issues against "Brits". I have issues against English people who think they can tar Wales and Scotland in with them with the obnoxius term "Brits"

I also have an issue with England fans who assume that all other England fans are angelic and would never start a fight when you have one of, if not the worst history of football violence in Europe.

And I have an issue with England fans who assume that every other team should get massive punishments but who would certainly be whinging and moaning if they got punished.

Well said MYOB. I could not agree with you more. The idea of a bunch of England fans waxing self-righteous about someone else being racially offensive is a complete joke.

This is one of these uncomfortable moments where I have no idea if you're being sarcastic or sincere....

Help me with what, exactly?

Unlike you, it appears I don't need help with my basic spelling and grammar.

What WAS the score last time England played Ireland? I know we were losing 1-0 in the abandoned game but that doesn't really count as we got the result that night from the boys doing the business on the terraces.

I too agree with you, MYOB. A small minority of England fans have been embarrassing our country for decades - just as a small minority of Spaniards thought that chanting monkey noises was perfectly reasonable.

Mind you, it's not your place to make out the word "Brit" as obnoxious. That's OUR country.

You went 1-0 down at around 40 minutes and your 'fans' kicked off. We haven't played you since, through luck of the draw for qualifying/WC, and through not arranging friendlies with you

BTW, if thats not a post condoning hooliganism, I dunno what is.

Right can i just put this thread into perspective her b4 its starts getting silly.

Firstly- England Supporters Irish Supporters what happened in Ireland in 1989 or whenever it was is not the issue here...

The issue is RACISM....

I Will ask you a simple Question MYOB all it requires is a simple YES or NO...Now a man of your remarkable interlect should be able to do that.

Do you actually think the punishment dished out by FIFA to the Spainish Federation was actually sufficent for the scences we all saw

Its not. Britian is THREE countries - England, Scotland and Wales. The UK is FOUR countries - England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland; with the addition of lots of other dependencies.

England is your country. Calling yourself "Brits" is a potential insult (depending on the context, anyway) to anyone Scottish or Welsh.

Note: The Great Britian rugby team actually covers the entire British Isles - including Ireland. Don't ask me why...

On precedent, yes. Theres no other way to judge was sufficient, but based on precedent, it was right.

Brits.. as in British..England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland the Channel Islands..BRITISH.

Why is the term 'Brit' obnoxius? Why would it be tarring Wales and Scotland to refer to their people as 'Brits'?

You obviously have a real problem.

:D :D I was only joking, that night was a disgrace. I always remember that little kid with his grandfather after they had been evacuated onto the pitch. Really shameful. From what I've read there was a huge undercurrant associated with the game and a lot of people had turned out to view things along political lines rather than footballing ones.

As far as not playing each other goes, I would largely put that fown to the fact that Ireland have only qualified for one major tournament in the last 10 years. There was a time we used to get drawn together every single tournament.

In the mid 90s, Ireland could probably have rolled us over but these days we are far superior in pretty much every department and would win home or away about 3-1.

Its tarring in the way its being used here - claiming that "FIFA are being racist against Brits". The fact that they're not being racist is one point... But the main problem is that they haven't done ANYTHING to Scotland or Wales. They're just as British as England is

No matter what way its used, if someone is refering to one of the three countries as "Britian", or one of the four as the "United Kingdom", its obnoxious. It should only ever be used to refer to all three (or all four, in the case of the UK).

should be 'it's not' and Britian should be Britain x 2, thought it was a typo at first then you did it twice
