In light of Fifa's lenency against the spainiards...Im begining to think that they are actually racist against the Britain as a country, now bear with b4 you think im a rambling idiot. Picture the scences in spain taking place at the new wembley and Sven coming out with the same coments as Spains poorr excuse for a human being Manager...

Now i think if it had been us we would have been banned straight away from international Footy and Fifa would have demanded that we sack sven..Discuss is FIFA CORRUPT

Brazil, Germany, Italy, Spain, France......All Massive money making teams the other countries will pay high for tv rights!! Why would u ban em and therefore Fifa Competitions end up being a failure?

Just as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man Utd, Ac Milan would (or maybe could not) be banned from Champions league.

Fine them instead and look as if your punishing em!!

Sad but true Im afraid!!

Err, firstly I believe it was UEFA who were responsible for the fines against Spain and not FIFA

But secondly - England has and will continue to get away with just as much if not worse racial attacks and violence at matchs. You always have and you always will. I believe I remember some minute slap on the wrist being the punishment for destroying an opposing teams stadium in a friendly, for instance.

MYOB, when was the last time you went to an England game and saw racial attacks and violence?

believe me Turkey and Spain and several Eastern European countries behave much worse than England fans at this time, the FA has done a pretty good job stopping known trouble makers getting to games

Last time I was at an England game was last time you played Ireland (I'm not an England fan, hence I'm not going to be attending England games, am I).

Lemme see - away end of stadium destroyed, one police officer left in a coma for TWO YEARS, somewhere in the region of thirty arrests of England fans, full scale riot squad needed...

check your facts mate it is FIFA !!!!....I take it you are not from England then granted we like every other country have racist issues...But i don't recall an England manager ever reffering to a coloured player as a 'black sh*t' like the spanish manager and dont recall seeing racism on the scale of the Spanish game at full International or Youth Level ever.....granted scences like that were common play in England in the 70s & 80s but not anymore buddy...

There's an interesting article on this in the Jan 05 edition of WSC which concludes that FIFA/UEFA should be doing more to stamp out this sort of nonsense in places like Spain but that we should be very careful not to be the ones giving orders, especially given the fact that the FA do little to prevent other forms of racism amongst its own supporters. In Baku there was a banner that said "NO ASSYLUM SEEKERS", and there are people who sing pro-UVF songs and hang Ulster flags to make their point - what has that got to do with England? Purely there for inflammatory purposes.

ffs this is getting so boring

How long ago was that England Turkey game?

I agree the Spanish fine is pathetic and something like a game behind closed doors should have been imposed.

But that means we should have got the same kind of punishment from the game in Sunderland.

I suppose Fifa are going on Spain's past record. I know (very well) that racism is a problem in Spanish football and violence in the league is common too. But there is no way you can compare the 'histories' of the two national team's supporters, however bad last month was.

Anothing thing - if it was England that had been fined, or had received a tournament ban, etc - you lot would be going insane over it, claiming it was an over the top punishment, "singling England out", etc, etc, etc

You get what you give. The fine Spain got is similar to what England would get for the same thing.

MYOB - the people who caused most of the trouble when England played that game against Ireland in Dublin were fascist scum who had gone there purely with the intent of causing trouble, they achieved their aim and were an embarassment not only to England but to civilisation as a whole.

Since those horrendous events this country has largely got its house in order, witness the scenes from Euro 2004 where our fans made a massive contribution to the success of the tournament, how many games (featuring all teams) did you see without the presence of a St George's Cross, not many. I do believe that the game in England has advanced considerably from the dark ages, we paid a severe penalty in the mid-80's for our so called fans mis-behaviour, it just seems that FIFA/UEFA are less willing to hand out similar punishments today, money now rules over morals.

i seem to remember our club teams getting a pretty heavy ban in europe and england fans not being able to travel to away games in europe....so you openly condone spains behaviour then do you and think FIFA'S fine was enough....

No, I don't condone it. I just think England fans have no right to whinge about it being lax.

You know that wasn't average English football fans on that night but a gathering of NF, BNP, UFF from across Britain. Less than half the arrested scum were English.

The racism at Madrid, Slovakia seemed to be coming from the whole crowd.

I'm not saying anything about the Irish as a whole.. but ...every Irish person I've ever met, and I know a few quite well, hate the English football team.

They are so jealous! :lolol:

Remember our FIFA ranking. Notice how damn close it is to yours....

Remember the scoreline last time we played England

Jealousy - I think not. We could have England any time we wanted to (probably, assuming Roy was willing to play that day....)
