Ha, 3 posts on there from me and i still stick by all 3 of them......Barnes was decent enough for us and i believe you could see him improving as a footballer. He never deserved the stick he got.He had a few rough spells on the pitch for us where his confidence seemed very low .I think it shows how far we have fallen when we would give anything for players like him to come in now.

As good a performance you will see from that type of forward in the Premier League, fantastic. The Man City centrebacks will not have a harder game all season, he bullied them.

Even if he hadn't have scored, his performance was still Drogba at his best.

Ashley Drogba-Barnes.

I can't believe the stick Barnes got on here and at the ground. Always was and always will be a quality player. I assume is playing as part of a 4-4-2 with Ings. Probably even better for him that the odd positions Oscar and Gus made him take up at the Amex.

Central supporting striker/no.10, I think - which is, and always was his best position.

Chap above may be able to confirm.

do you watch football?

I'll spell it out for you as you didn't see my post 'Whoosh' earlier.
El Presidente is taking the mickey out of all those posters who slated Barnes when we were still in League One.

Sorry El Pres, if I've spoilt your fun.

I listen to it on teletext and that's clear enough to show that Barnes is perhaps the worst player to ever wear the Albion blue and white hooped shirt.

The only reason he scored 20 goals in a season for us was because opposing goalkeepers were laughing at him so much for being rubbish that they let his mis-hit shots slip between their legs easier than Katie Price stuck in a lift with a boy band.

Exiled from the South Country
6 in 16 for Ulloa in the Prem.
3 in 16 for Barnes in the Prem.

Both having been used as subs a few times, moreso Barnesy.

Burke was let go for a reason, hopefully these two leaving were a part of it.

I appreciate Burke is now the official scapegoat for everything that may have gone wrong in the past 2.5 years, but no-one could have kept Ulloa here as soon as we lost in the playoffs when he had the chance to play in the Prem. And whether or not we should have offered Barnes more to stay would have been a Board decision, and Burke isn't on the board.

I am not saying he didn't make mistakes, but these two weren't his call!

Barnes got stick when the team never performed even though others were just as culpable, we fell and have fallen because we can't realise what our assets are and then we let them go so cheaply. If they are foreign or come from a big club people here think they are world class but people like Barnes or even Buckley get slated if they have one poor game.

Well done Ashley.

£750k looks a good deal now. For Burnley.

Glad to see him doing the business in the PL, Burnley and Dyche are an inspiration to smaller clubs aiming for the top league.
