FFP latest predictions

Is an equity injection, a gift rom the owner, owners or interested parties. If my undertstanding of this is correct, football is still subjecting itself to being upheld by rich benefactors and not run as a business. Can nayone confirm what an'equity injection' is?

So are you saying that if you break the FFP rules, get promoted, but stay up, you never pay the fine due?

Also, originally the fines were to be split amongst the complying teams - is that still the case, or will they be going to charity as someone mooted on here?

Rather than use an analogy, it's easier to say that Forest are ****ed.

Or my feeling is the PL will step in and say if you do not admit one of our relegated clubs we will not accept one of your promoted clubs, causing all sorts of problems. The FL and PL will come to some sort of agreement with minimal punishment to QPR.

Why? My understanding is that the Premier League have rubber stamped the FFP rules. Their only query has been where the fines end up. They weren't happy that these were distributed to compliant clubs so it is now going to charity.

I don't think the FL will throw a club out of the league because they don't pay a fine but I wouldn't mind betting they impose a points deduction making it impossible for them to get promoted and more likely end up relegated. The Premier League have their own FFP rules and if they are seen not to support other organisations rules whether they be the FL or UEFA that could come back to bite them in the proverbials.

I don't think the FL will throw a club out of the league because they don't pay a fine but I wouldn't mind betting they impose a points deduction making it impossible for them to get promoted and more likely end up relegated. The Premier League have their own FFP rules and if they are seen not to support other organisations rules whether they be the FL or UEFA that could come back to bite them in the proverbials.

Also, if a club is 'poor' enough to get relegated from the PL the PL really aren't that bothered with them anyway - they only really care about the big permanent residents. Small fry like QPR are never going to be an established team.

Pretty sure that when the Grabban deal fell through for us it was an improved contract far in excess of what we were willing to pay that swung it. Fees are only part of the equation, you only have to look at the enormity of our wage bill to see how that is the main factor these days.

It's not just fees, it's wages and Bournemouth are good payers.

It also relates to income (& the cash for Lallana etc won't count for this set of accounts). The point being that the wages Bournemouth are believed to be paying are way in excess of what they bring in via commercial revenue, sponsorship and so on.

Well we'll find out soon enough. I am suspecting all hell will break loose when the figures are finally announced. In our case this may turn out to be more exciting than the actual football itself.

I am very confident that AFCB will NOT fail FFP. For some reason(s) there are many on NSC who believe AFCB are paying huge figures for players, agents and wages. We've spent millions on a new pitch and new training pitches, updating the stadium and environs and the club's owner has pumped several million into new equity (shares) all of which count against FFP. However, our wage bill is nothing like as high as a lot of you here seem to believe.

I mean it is a waste due to the fact are we even sticking them on the bench never mind the the pitch and you can't say they are development squad players. Just a bad purchases which are completely unnecessary and that is someones fault wasting money.

I get where you're coming from, but as has been mentioned before there's no way of knowing whether they'll be successful or not. They might not be to the managers' liking, might not have the application, might not work for them geographically or for family reasons etc. I guess I'm just not a fn of portioning blame onto one single person without knowing the full story behind the scenes.

Or they will say we won't pay you the solidarity payments which will greatly increase the possibility of Championships clubs going to the wall but would also make many more non compliant.

FFP hasn't been well thought through and needs to be ripped up and rethought .. once any "deals" are done it's effectively finished anyway

This is the thing that really pisses me off!

The Premier League clubs receive most of the TV money and use it to raid non-PL clubs of their players (Leicester & Sunderland for example in our case) making it even more difficult or imposible to get promoted. All clubs now need to reach the PL in order to make their finances FFP compliant, either that or be content floating around mid table.Meanwhile, some clubs are spending way above their means trying to get promoted (Bournemouth, Forest). Compliant clubs cannot match their wages for players. The over-spending clubs inflate wages for everybody, increasing losses for clubs who want to try and remain competitive to maintain their crowds but the PL, instead of taking the opportunity to redress the balance by allowing fines to go to compliant clubs insist the money goes to charity. Meanwhile they pay their relegated clubs £56 Million or so as reward for being shit which fecks up The Championship finances even more. It all makes perfect sense now.

You have gates under the 10k mark (not a dig, just a fact). You lost over £15 million in your last season in League One. What do you think that money was spent on? How much of the 15.3m loss from the last set of accounts is attributable to infrastructure and other stuff that fall outside of FFP? The FFP loss has to be reduced to 8m max, which includes equity.
