FH really wanted to keep Gross too. I know it's different, but it doesn't always matter what our manager wants

(trying not to get excited)
Agreed,. difficult to read negotiations especially when reporting is so fragmented or in certain cases just guesswork or wrong.
But this is a good source, and if player wants the move then that sounds key here - as does Bloom/Weir backing the coach with ££.

Player "wants the move" according to Sky.
According to sky who probably got that from Plettenberg! I want this to happen but we all know he will go where the money is. I will buy my mate Chris a pie every home game for the season if it happens.

Of course, in the opaque wording of transfer rumours, it could mean the player wants a move to the Prem and not necessarily a specific move to the Albion? But more promising than no news.

Bizarre that we are spending so much in this transfer window with an unproven PL rookie in charge. I wonder if RDZ was told to be patient before he went off on his January rant and media whinging? The guy got us to Europe and I confess I would have more confidence in him kicking on with what we’ve spent so far this window than I currently have in FH. More big signings potentially incoming too.

Anyway, exciting times, can’t wait for the season to start and the window to close

I’ve only just seen he’s a Left Back. Surely it’s a right back we should be prioritising?

Not bizarre at all imo, more planned all along. We‘ve got the money and club is following the same strategy. The manager is just another cog in the machine - we’d have been doing the same if De Zerbi hadn’t tried to change how the club operates and we’ll do the same if Fab leaves

So you reckon RDZ was told the plan and to keep his powder dry before he went off on one?

I am derailing the thread, I’ll leave it there, it’s history now.

What do I reckon ? RDZ was told very clearly how the club operates before he joined……….then when we had our injuries and couldn’t replace Mac and Moises adequately he wanted cash splashed in January on expensive PL-ready players which we were never going to do (ie tried to change Tony’s MO). When he was told no chance he got all pissy and started gobbing off.

He's surely being targeted to play on the right, but i wonder if Estupinan is being looked at as a LCB to provide some pace there and allowing Ferdi to play LWB where he seems to play most of his games.

Great versatility to have.

That must be a typo or just incorrect info on the contract length… no chance we’d spend 35m on a player & only offer 2 years.
