What did I miss? I was at work
After having to listen to John Motson talking tosh for umpteen years, I thought that she was a pleasant change.
Experience with international football/world cup.Define 'appropriate'?
What's wrong with her? I think she's pretty good: done all her homework on the players and isn't wasting any time on meaningless waffle. I like Keown too, he's the best of the summarisers IMO.
I quite liked her as well until she started ''Hero Worshipping'' Ronaldo - But apart from that I thought she was good and the other commentators ''Hero Worship'' Ronaldo as well so not that different.
Red button and put on the five live commentary

John Terry not impressed either too seemingly
I don't think that anyone is (seriously) saying that women are not capable of commentating on football. They clearly are, and are just as qualified to do so as their male counterparts. For me its just an honest preference. I don't like the 'shrillness' of the voice when there's some action on the pitch. Thats not to say I like ALL the male commentators either - Jonathan Pearce absolutely does my swede in. But I just prefer a MAN in the commentary box.
It's nothing to do with having a vagina, it's about having a high-pitched voice.
Is there a way you can do this without it going to SD?
I tried doing this on Saturday when Lawrenson was being a bellend during the France Oz game. 5 live commentary was a lot less offensive to my ears but the picture quality was hugely more offensive to my eyes.
She is awful. Unreal - England has had all the masculinity knocked out of it.....men are now pussy whipped limp-wristed slaves to their bosses and wives......scared to say anything to anyone. Currently being trained to love trannys.
So glad I don't live there.
Female commentator on the world cup? lol....it has to be a joke.

Huge problem in radio in particularly - generally the most popular and/or longest lasting women on radio, particularly current affairs, have deep voices. You could be A1 in terms of interview skills and political analysis and you'd get nowhere with a higher pitched voice.
Particularly for morning radio actually.
Possibly with a Freesat box and waaaay more faffing with entering codes directly than its worth.
So a women commentating on a man's game - with a male co-commentator chipping in from time to time when she allows - is progress in your mind?
Well done - you have been well and truly socially engineered.
Reminded me of Euro 2016, Shearer saying "We don't know too much about Slovenia". Surely to god you should be expected to do some basic research on the subject of your 'expert' anlysis/pundetry ? Alex Scott was certainly a breath of fresh air, albeit only doing what should be expected of a pundit.
The 1950’s called. They want their outdated views back.
