Favourite Slade moment

Mine was when we were 5-0 up against Yeovil (his previous club whom he left under a dark cloud) and we chanted " Russell whats the score Russell Russell Whats the score" And with no hesitation he just stuck 4 fingers and 1 thumb up with a big smile to indicate we 5-0 up, LEGEND

This shades it for me too. Marvelous, marvelous scenes. For those who think Big Russ didn't have a clue: all I can say is that they must've been been stuck on another planet if they didn't see how he turned our rabble into a team of winners at the end of last year. It was nothing short of MIRACULOUS, & that night in Bristol was the time when we all started to really believe that we could actually beat the drop. I will be thankful to him for the rest of days for that amazing night - & the cherry on the top was the achievement of the Great Escape at a rockin' Withers against Stockport.

It should NEVER be forgotten how passionate he was. It's a real shame the rabble didn't play to their potential thus far this season & got him the sack. They did it. But onwards & upwards hopefully.

The one time I got to meet him, which was at a reserves match at The Dripping Pan.

Lovely, genuine sincere bloke who looked like he'd won the Star Prize by landing the Brighton job.

Has to be Rovers away - the ecstatic celebrations as he knew and we knew we could get out of trouble. Absolutely fantastic - felt like we had won the league. Also the final day of the season - I got goose pimples watching that again - very sad - what a great man!
