That video alone is why he had the right to more time. He gives us the ecstasy of staying up and all the good things that come with it i.e. more money and for that reason he at least deserved until Christmas.

Reminds me of when Stevie Gritt left. Not just because of the same song but because he will always have a great place in our history. But sad though it was it was also the right decision then to move onwards and upwards.

It was a very special day & Slade I expect will go down in folklore like Adams first time around. However since the Stockport game we have had nowt to be cheerful about at withdean. The right decision has been made however the gr8 bald eagle will not have to buy himself many pints in btn pubs for a while

That video is superb and that was indeed a special day.
For me though, not being at Bristol Rovers, I will remember Colchester away most fondly. The whole team came over to our end after the final whistle and most ( not Craig Davies though ) were beating their chests in gestures of passion and belief, and guess who was beating their chest the hardest ?...yes, RUSSELL SLADE !

That is worlds apart from the scenes last saturday. I'm bitterly disappointed that it didn't work out for him; whenever the man spoke it was hard not to like him even more. Someone else said this on another thread but it's very true...

That was a great day and the video is brilliant. Shame it didnt work out for Russ as I truely did love the man and dont think he was the type to ever leave us out of choice.

His first match in charge against Orient is a great memory. When he came towards us before the game in his suit and tie, giving the clenched fist salute. You could just tell then that this was a man who had PASSION. I really think he put his all into this football club, I think he felt that this was as good an opportunity as he may get in terms of money, and Falmer on the horizon. He saw the potential in this club, and we took him to our hearts instantly which can be a rarity with football managers.
A seemingly lovely bloke who deserved so much more from the players. They let him down big time, and I hope they f***ing care.
