This. I was actually quite close by in South Kensington at the time and heard it all go off.

Although to be honest my reaction was "What the f**k was that?", and I had no idea what had caused the ruckus until seeing it on the news later.

When I worked in Holland, I worked with an English bloke, who was so English it was funny, who was married to the sister of one of the IRA people that were killed in that operation.

A couple of civilians were also shot by the sas in that operation and one of them died...
