I like my football shirts simple. The 2010 shirt is my absolute favourite, even though the 2010 team was embarrassing in South Africa.

I have to say though, I didn't like the Euro '96 shirt at the time, but love it now. The same effect is also taking place with the current home shirt. Clearly the good memories I associate with those kits make them more loveable.

That's only due to 39 years of hot washes, it has obviously shrunk.

You're too kind....

BTW I will NOT be wearing an England shirt on Sunday night (I'm lucky enough to have a ticket)

I wore the same (non-football) shirt in 2018 against Columbia and Sweden - changed it for the Croatia game.....

For the Germany, Ukraine and Denmark games I went back to the same 'favourite' shirt from 2018 and will definitely stick with it for Sunday's game.

A white polo shirt with an England badge on it? Hmmmm...???

the 1980-82 shirt should win this by a country mile, gets my vote too.
I've only ever owned 2, the 80-82 one and, I think, the 2006 red one. Picked it up cheap in a sale. Really like our red shirts. They are so iconic, for obvious reasons and for me better represent the flag.
Would be happy for it to become our first kit.

That KK one was my first, then the early 80's one. the '66 is the most iconic.

A personal fave is the aertex 1970 shirts, red white or sky blue. all great.

I have a few but these three stick out.

1993-1995 is way under rated since we never made it to the WC, but the home and 3rd kit are iconic.

Also, I really like the current away.

Last England shirt I bought and even then, only once it was reduced in JJB!

My only other England shirt would have been from the mid-90's. a 'friend' said that they had got hold of some if I was interested so I got a genuine shirt around half the normal price. In the local paper the next week, it was reported that Olympus Sports had been broken into and various football shirts taken. I'm sure that was just a coincidence though:whistle:

But how does that differ from the '66 shirts? They were simply round neck, long sleeve t-shirts with an England patch.

I appreciate that this subject is very, well, subjective, but I thought that 2010 shirt was everything it needed to be, and nothing more. I also like the fact that they were more fitted and generally better quality than normal shirts of the era - mine is still in good nick now.

I do totally understand why you would hate it though. One person's classic is definitely another person's boring.

Totally agreed, an instant classic (in my view). As can be seen from my comments in this thread, I like my football shirts to be 'classic' or 'crazy'. For an England shirt, this is pretty crazy. It is a shame we have not worn it through the tournament - I was surprised it wasn't used against Ukraine.
