Love all kinds of country: the old, like John Denver and Glen Campbell, an absolute legend whose work towards the end of his career was as good as anything he’d done before. Check out Ghost on the Canvas, magnificent and poignant album.

Of the newer artists, Jason Aldean and Mo Pitney are great and Glen’s daughter Ashley Campbell shows terrific promise too. Went to Nashville in November and had the time of my life!

Big fan of the Dalton Brothers.

Shame they never made it commercially.

I like far too many to pick just one favourite. It changes daily, hourly even. A couple of months ago I discovered Totally Country was on sky, showing more up-to-date country muic and american videos than the other channel, keep it country does (which instead shows a lot of irish country music and obscure versions of videos - here's shania twain that don't impress me much... from her live performance dvd). Totally country has exposed me to some more newer artists, artists I was aware of but only knew one or tow of their songs now getting see more of them (Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osbourne, Cam, Kacey Musgraves, Zac Brown, Florida Georgie Line, Darius Rucker, Sugarland, etc), so I've been listening to a lot of those.

This one, by Paul Cauthen closed out the first epsiode of season 2 of American Gods

Besides that I do like those with a bit of humour

100% This.

Too many to choose from!

Kenny Chesney - The Boys of Fall / Somewhere with You / El Cerrito Place / Old Blue Chair....the list goes on!
Jake Owen - American Country Love Song
Rascal Flatts - Ellsworth
Brothers Osborne - Stay a Little Longer
Brad Paisley - Country Nation

Chris Stapleton / Luke Bryan / Cole Swindell / Billy Carrington all turn out good tunes too.

Went and watched Chris Shiflett (of Foo Fighters fame) in Brighton Sunday night, and his brand of Country Rock is brilliant (even better live) & worth a listen. Supporting him was a young English girl called Emily Faye & she was brilliant. More the traditional country sound, but worth checking out on spotify / itunes etc.

Brothers Osborne - Stay a Little Longer

Brother Osborne in Vegas (from April 2019) is airing on Totally Country at midnight tonight if anyone is interested. It aired in the middle of the day either yesterday or Friday, but I only caught the end of it.

Totally Country is on
Sky: Channel 373
Virgin Media: Channel 348

The classic Rhinestone Cowboy. Glen Campbell at his best.
Never been the same to me after the "Lard's Classic Cuts" version. Almost too funny.

It's quite difficult to find in that condition though.
