UNcs there is hostility to anything that is 'Middle of the Road' harmless fun..the 'feel good factor.

Paths of Glory. Kirk Douglas. ?

that wasnt set at christmas, im not sure of the name of the film but the story is about pte eddie d slovik, the only american soldier executed for cowardice in ww2.

And, as MoH later said, they were not deserters. The French were not doing very well so their commanders blamed the frontline soldiers of cowardice and picked 3 men to be shot as an example to the others.

Disgraceful, very sad. . . and probably true.
