Fattest (professional) footballer you've ever seen?

Apart from Aspinall, the fattest Albion player I've seen was Alan Duffy - he looked like he trained on a pies and pints diet.

The fattest footballer (outfielder that is, I don't really count goalies) that I can ever remember was Jan Molby, he looked almost spherical in his final games.

Prompted by Sean Gregan's appearance at centre half for Oldham yesterday, who I believe was the widest footballer seen at Withdean since the days of Warren Aspinall.

.
???
I thought he had lost a few pounds compare with the leeds game a few years back ..he and Butler looked like pie monsters that day ...good of him to help sort Harts cramp out though

The Hungarian legend revealed that Real Madrid signed him despite him politely pointing out that he was 40lb overweight.

I give you ex-Notts County and Shrewsbury player, Matthew Redmile, the number 5 in this action shot.

Sadly, it's my lookalike former Palace scummer and hoover-inventor Tomas Brolin.
Our eating habits are bound to be similar. I might write to him and ask.

Oh I Say! Top Shout there Meadey.

Nice to see the old porker's looking so trim in that recent pic. Must be all that heavy exercise he does at the poker table these days.

Mark Yardley, affectionately known as Mark Lardley. I've seen him playing for both St Mirren and Albion Rovers. Despite being clearly overweight, he somehow managed to make it as a forward, with an amazing ability to get past 2 or 3 defenders. And at nearly a goal a game, his scoring record is astonishing. I mean, fat central defenders and all that - but fat strikers are an altogether rarer and greater breed.

Fred Binney was hardly svelte, but not the fattest I've seen - just the chubbiest for us.

I recall some losing side sending on a short fatty substitute to crock Wardy, and laughed when he was sent off after the first tackle he put in.

sorry to disagree chubbiest for us was definitely Alan Duffy
in 1-0 win over Reading that was broadcast on the national radio the commentator laughed and said he was the most rotund player he had ever seen Alan Duffy scored the only goal of the match
