That's the first time I read about this.
Spanish restaurant manager in a smart restaurant full of celebrity photos on the walls. He'd met a lot of celebs. The sauce was impeccable as were the anchovies and tomato tapas.

Wow there are some bitter and twisted sods on here.

i thought when he was fit he played some fantastic football for us. It wasn’t his fault he got injured and if it was , then perhaps we should apply the same bile at solly march.
players get injured, it happens.

“fantastic football “? Oh come on . Injuries were not his fault , sure, but he was a massive disappointment from start to finish . Let’s not try and pretend otherwise .
And I’m sure most Albion fans wish him well . It was just a gamble that didn’t pay off

When they say “Conservative treatment”, is that because he’s spent 12 months in
Brighton and is now too left wing for them?
No, it simply means doing f*** all.

Not some of the comments on here they don’t. And yes, when he was on his game , him and Pedro were superb together in a very ( European football apart) average season

Totally agree.
Benched for rest of season. 5 min appearances if lucky.
He got his reputation from having great potential.
Always thought he was outside the dressing room for some reason.
Different outcome if he had come through academy.
Hope he finds success in the future.

Yep, that. Was just starting to click when he got injured. Very unfortunate all round.

I don't hold any malice towards him, but do feel he was bitterly disappointing considering the wages we were paying him. As I understand it, we broke our mould in signing him, and all to keep RDZ happy, for what that was worth. It's not surprising that people are relieved we've not picked him up again. That's not really the same thing as what you're accusing them of.

As for the player himself, he was never "fantastic" as far as I can remember. He scored a couple of smartly taken goals against Ajax, and a tap in when we were thrashed at Villa. His movement began to look promising when he then got injured. I'm not sure he contributed an awful lot more, tbh. Certainly nothing commensurate with the enormous salary we ended up paying. I'm glad he's Barca's problem now, and not ours. I bet no other club pays his wages for a season on loan.

Think i agree a lot more with DJ NOBO.

He showed flashes of his star quality, scored a couple of important goals and you could see there was a quality player in there, but also seemed very half arsed even when fit, and up against the rest of the squad options, he simply didnt deserve to start as other players offered a lot more for the team.

Imo you get a better gauge of how fans feel about a player at games. Fati got some decent receptions even when it was clear the loan wasn’t working out. Fans desperately wanted him to succeed and I doubt many wish the worst for Fati .

When he was “at it “ you could see there was a player there unfortunately the bad days outweighed the good days , I was desperate for him to be a success here , that night in Amsterdam will always be remembered
I suspect there may be a few who don't remember it.
