He has not been issued with a license to hold the event. They are meeting either today or tomorrow to decide whether it can go ahead.

so i am assuming the people who brought tickets legitimatly will be issued a refund if cancelled,

what about those on sale on ebay??? they will be screwed:lolol:

Quite! The ones that sold for massive prices - the buyer is buggered, for those that sold just over the asking price they could have cashed in, should the license be granted.

Yo. I was just keeping tabs on it and explaining to Surrey Jim.

I can't see that they would fail to grant the license as 'necessary precuations' (?) have been taken, this time.

Appologies to all for being slow and thick  :dunce:

According to the Radio the Transport Police had objected, but the issues they had have now been resolved with the Promoters.

Most big out door gigs sell tickets before have a license. Loads of the ones I have say "subject to license" on them.

I see the Argus has printed a few letters from misrable wan*ers objecting to the gig! Some people are just so so so so miserable!

Fatboy Slim awaits Big Beach party approval
By Andy Chiles
Fatboy Slim will find out tomorrow if his sold out New Year's Day beach party can go ahead.

Brighton and Hove City Council's licensing committee will meet at Brighton Town Hall at 4pm to decide whether Big Beach Boutique 3, in Madeira Drive, will be given permission.

If it gives its approval the party will only have one more level of council administration to go through - a policy and resources committee meeting next Thursday.

The 20,000-ticket event has raised concern among nearby residents as well as the council and emergency services.

British Transport Police formally objected to the show by the DJ, aka Norman Cook, but most of the issues it raised have now been resolved.

The event will be Cook's first on the beach since 250,000 people flocked to his 2002 concert, causing chaos in the city.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust has warned a combination of drink, drugs and cold weather could lead to revellers suffering from hypothermia.

East Sussex Fire Authority is concerned escape routes have not been properly considered and has asked for a more detailed risk assessment. The council wants more information on noise levels and a better safety plan.

All 20,000 tickets, priced £30, sold out within four hours of being released. Hundreds have since been listed on eBay.

I will get a license. Anyone who knows anything about gigs knows that events like this get a go-ahead in principle whilst the paper work and various agreements etc are discussed, worked on and put into the formal license.

See you on New Year's Day.
