Was speaking in the North Stand concourse after the game with one of Ashley Barnes longtime friends. AB is out of contract in the Summer and is seriously thinking of moving on. He loves the club and loves the area as a place to live and bring up kids, but is thinking of jacking it in on account of low life trash (my words) telling him to f*** Off in the street while he's out with his wife and toddler. And who could blame him. Nobody needs that. Especially when they are following team orders to the letter in a position that is alien to them.

To aforesaid low life trash I'd say:

a) You don't reflect the opinion of 99% of Albion fans
b) You almost certainly never went to Withdean
c) You are bang out of order - tho WAY too shitferbrains to ever realise it

Keep on doing what you're doing Ashley, you're the best value for money striker we have by a country MILE!

That is disgraceful, I think it's stupid enough people abusing/ moaning about him (in particular) at the game but people doing it off the pitch who are obviously Brighton fans should be ashamed of themselves

The morons should be strung up by their balls (if they've got any). Leave our Ash alone - he's a great lad.

I'm not surprised by this.

Top scorer, puts in a decent shift every game but then........

Constantly slated on this forum.

Gets abuse for minor mistakes from twats in the crowd.

I think he brings a lot to the team and has bags of potential. Would be a massive loss if he left.

I don't understand why people need to abuse our players like this. Honestly it makes me cringe when I hear people moaning out loud about in the stands.
If a player is having a bad time, it should go no further. Let's get behind them and not slag them off people, you know who you are.

Was it an Albion fan who abused (i am guessing it was) or just an isolated modern day incident? either way it's not pleasant, and can happen anywhere, perhaps the advice to Ash (who i rate) is do what is best for you and your family, and keep in mind is the grass always greener.

seriously hope he signs a new deal - losing him would be worse than losing Murray last season for me

I'd agree with that, Ashley (although already a good player) still has loads more potential and I'd hate to see him fulfilling that potential with some other club just because of a few over-opinionated knuckle-draggers.

If i saw ashley in the street i would up to him and talk to him and tell what a great player he is and that the people moaning are the minority and probaly grab a sneaky photo with him
