Meopham, Kent.
Classy player, vital cog in the workings of the Gus Bus. I'd sincerely hope that AB gets a new deal sorted out pretty soon.

I really don't get the Barnes abuse as it goes on a lot in WSU near me, he is a really good player and has adapted well to the Championship and cheap as chips compared to our other striker.

It's right that no one should be abused in the street. Totally moronic. But to suggest that he's thinking of moving because of an incident is baffling. It could happen anywhere at any club that he goes on to play for. If this has any substance beyond the 'friend' there may be issues internally or closer to home.

Still amazes me how thick some people are regarding Barnes. Saw him win a defensive header back to Brez on the edge of our box and then be blamed by fans around me that he wasn't there to tap in a Cms pass 10 seconds later!!! Do fans not understand that A he is just carrying out Poyet's orders, and B that none of Noone, Buckley, Lua Lua, Assulin or Vicenti would be able to win that type of header anyway. So many thick football fans in the Amex it's untrue

There are two issues here:

1 - Yes, Barnes doesn't deserve the abuse he gets from people who don't understand the first thing about football.

and

2 - Anyone who believes 'his friend' that he would seriously consider walking from a great club going places, and somewhere he obviously loves being, because someone told him to f*** off in the street really is living in some strange fantasy world.

Was speaking in the North Stand concourse after the game with one of Ashley Barnes longtime friends. AB is out of contract in the Summer and is seriously thinking of moving on. He loves the club and loves the area as a place to live and bring up kids, but is thinking of jacking it in on account of low life trash (my words) telling him to f*** Off in the street while he's out with his wife and toddler. And who could blame him. Nobody needs that. Especially when they are following team orders to the letter in a position that is alien to them.

To aforesaid low life trash I'd say:

a) You don't reflect the opinion of 99% of Albion fans
b) You almost certainly never went to Withdean
c) You are bang out of order - tho WAY too shitferbrains to ever realise it

Keep on doing what you're doing Ashley, you're the best value for money striker we have by a country MILE!

A) I'd say 100% of Albion Fans. Whatever someones view if they choose to abuse a player, let alone tells them to f*** off in front of his wife and kids, they are not a fan of the club. Simple.
B) I doubt if they'd been to a Brighton game period.
C) Scum.

I'm all for saying what you want on here about any player, especially if you're prepared to back it up, but there are fair to many pricks watching us at the moment. Barnes, Brez, Noone, CMS, Reyes and Mattock are all useless and shit according to people around me. Incredible really.

Getting boring listening to the ppl slagging off Barnes. Pathetic. The fact is, if another player makes a mistake it is just a groan, when Barnes makes one, everyone is on his back because it is fashionable amongst the Moron brigade. He gives 100 per cent and all these so called fans do is slag him off. I would rather have a few thousand fans turn up than listen to that bollocks

Although nsc is a very open forum, i do think, that in light of this situation that any threads slagging Ashley off should be deleted. He probably looks at nsc and that is only going to add to the problem. Also the threads are just so wrong, untrue, unfair and ridiculous. Enough is enough and nsc should do its bit to help. No player should be slagged off in my opinion, but one of our best players, its madness.

Hb&b mentioned that he has heard abuse at the Amex too although most players can block it out, some people forget that he is still a youngster relatively speaking. Maybe his agent has been putting out feelers?

I am not his biggest fan, and I am honest enough to sat that. I have had a couple of grumbles about him this season but he was mom today IMO. He is getting better with each game for sure. I am not one of the moaners and appreciate he is out of position. But today his work rate etc was fantastic. Keep it up ab
