Obviously didn't give a f*** today either, almost looked happy to be sent off.

When he got sent off for a double hand ball earlier in the season, his reaction was almost that of someone who fancied a weekend off. Without getting into the question of just how good he is - or isn't - how much damage does that sort of general attitude do within the squad overall?

Gus Poyet does not give the impression of someone who is prepared to tolerate that attitude indefinitely - how much longer has Murray got?

What a bunch of f***ing JOKERS you are.

Happy to be sent off? How about just accepted the decision and didn't argue?

Richie, have you considered why he accepts these decisions and doesn't argue? Could it be that it's because he knows he's been a twat and isn't that bothered?

Would you rather he did a Prutton and got a 8 match ban?

As Gus says, we've been in a relegation scrap for the last few years and there's a world of difference between being a team at the top and a team at the bottom.

Would Jermaine Beckford have missed the sitters that Murray (and Forster) have missed this season or would he have buried them? That's the kind of player we need if we're going to get automatic promotion.

Beckford has been out of favour at Leeds of late, their fans say he's playing poorly like he can't be bothered, and he was on the transfer list for a while in 2009.

Not particularly popular on the terraces for a prolific goalscorer -
BBC Sport - Football - Leeds United 2-0 Southend

He's been in and out of form this season, and I wonder if he's a great example to use in comparison with Glenn Murray, really?

Since GM likes and respects Gus, enjoys living in Brighton and is going steady with a local lass.... I don't think the idea of him "not being bothered" rings true. He also says "there's no better feeling than scoring a goal" to his Dad - so my guess is that he wants to score goals, period.

Thanks Greens :(
Defenders/midfielders are the ones that should be getting booked and sent off, not strikers, whose main role is to score goals...

Gary Lineker never got booked in his whole career. Admittedly he wasn't one to knock the centre-halves about, relying on being predatory in the six yard box, while GM seems to be more concerned with chucking his toys, rather than concentrating on notching every now and again...

He also played at a time when health and safety didn't dictate the laws of the game, goal keepers weren't protected from every single challenge, etc.

Don't get me wrong, Murray's been frustrating all season for various reasons.

I TRUST in Gus to get his head sorted, as anyone with half a brain can see there is a TOP League One striker in there.

IF Gus gets him focused and with a good service from midfield, he will score 20+ next season.

Anyone who thinks we should get rid of him and that his very slight attitude-related problems (which have improved immeasurably under Gus's stewardship IMO) are a real threat to our chances of success are, quite frankly, wrong. He would get into most teams at this level and I am confident we will buy a decent partner for him next season.

Thing that annoys me with Murray is that when he WANTS to play, he is almost unplayable, like at Wycombe, he seemed a man possessed there, and then we get performances like Swindon at home where he just wanders around aimlessly and basically looks like he couldn't give a shit if he was on the pitch or not. To be a top striker he must be consistently good, which in all honesty, even though I'm a fan of Murray, I don't think he is. Also, Over 10 yellow cards and 2 red cards for a striker is completely and utterly unacceptable, most of those amazingly have been for kicking the ball away, handball or violent conduct. He can go from unplayable to petulant school boy in the blink of an eye.

Needs to cut all the shit out of his game if he is going to be part of a successful side here.

Glenn Murray is in danger of failing to use his undoubted ability by being unable to act in a sensible manner. If he is not careful, he will waste his career in the same way as Leon Knight who was unable to focus on being a professional footballer.

I shall not be unhappy if we replace Murray with a top striker who is properly disciplined and fully focussed on this football club.

Exactly.
I said the same thing re a strike-partner, on Saturday - and was greeted by knowing nods of agreement.
The star of Gus's managerial debut at Southampton is not going to get replaced for getting sent off in a win at the safe end of this season.

As The Wizard said earlier/on the other Murray thread, on his day he is ABSOLUTELY unplayable and one of the best players in the entire division. He needs to find focus and consistency, and I believe Gus will instill those qualities.

Have to say I don't like Murray or rather the way he presents himself as a player, that said he has a talent for sticking the ball in the back of the net. Whatever it is that is making his fuse short he and HE ALONE needs to address it. If he's distracted by personal reasons he needs to move on or sort things out.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TALENT ... PLEASE!
