You're comparing MURRAY to DAVIES? This is GLENN Murray and CRAIG Davies, right?

Yes in that it is one of these NSC stories that does the rounds, half the board were CONVINCED Davies would score 20 this season, obviously a load of wank. Murray spends a quarter of the season stropping or suspended, misses a good few games through injury and isn't good enough to get 20 goals out of the rest of the 25 odd games because he is not at all clinical.

Murray does need to sort some of his attitude out and stop doing stupid things but at the same time the other half of his attitude has been better this season - bit jekel & Hyde i know but his footballing ability is obvious and people on here are forgetting that. Easily one of the best strikers in lg one - waqs only a few months ago people were worried of Championship clubs coming n for him - some of u r so so fickle.

Simple question: Is Murray good enough to spearhead our push to win the division next season?

Answer: No :wrong:

I totally disagree. He's an excellent striker at this level. We'll want to bolster our forwards in the summer for sure but Murray is ace.

Simple question: Are you making an assumption that Murray can only operate in attack if he is the 'spearhead'

Answer: yes!

Don't see why we can't sign a prolific scorer to play with Murray. Murray and Forster were working well together.Need to sort out his attitude though!

What did he actualy do, i did not see it, Starting to think his a knob and its time he was sent on his way!

This seems to be pretty much everyone's reaction today. "Didn't see it - what a knob."

Strange.

Didn't look much in it having seen (not very good) replay.

Ah well

Whether there was much in it or not is immaterial. In fact there being not much in it is almost worse as it suggests pettiness rather than genuine passion. As a professional, you know that if you raise to hand to the oppositions head you risk getting a red card, so it is pretty unprofessional to do it.

I certainly don't think we will be touting him round but if we had a good offer (£375K+) then I would not be surprised if we sold him.

Murray is a good lower league centre forward but just lacks the sharpness to be a stand-out performer......not to say that won't come with confidence and the right supply.

He does however have problems with "petulance" - silly reactions (pushing/kicking the ball away etc) that have cost us and him more and more dearly as this season has progressed. Now that silliness has carried forward into next season when he will miss the first two games.

If Leeds or Huddesfield don't come in for him (can't see anyone else likely to have the money at our level) then it really is time for him to wake up and smell the coffee - get his act together, stay on the pitch, and score the goals his ability says he should which is to say 20+ next year.

As Gus says, we've been in a relegation scrap for the last few years and there's a world of difference between being a team at the top and a team at the bottom.

Would Jermaine Beckford have missed the sitters that Murray (and Forster) have missed this season or would he have buried them? That's the kind of player we need if we're going to get automatic promotion.

Spot on. I've defended Murray in the past but I'm running out of patience with him. I saw the incident and it was pathetic - they got tangled up, squared up and then Murray put his hand in the guy's face and shoved him - right in front of the lino. Absolutely brainless. His talent shouldn't be in doubt, although he should make more of it in terms of his conversion ratio. His attitude however is another story.

Totally agree with Lush - whether Murray stays or not we need a proven 20+ goal a season striker at this level if we're going to seriously challenge next season....and one who can stay on the pitch.

Is the correct answer.
