I listened to this one on the radio and John Byrne suggested that the 1st half was the dullest 45 mins ever at the Amex and that by the end we had mugged Forest with really poor and unconvincing performances throughout the team. In fact I haven't heard him be so scathing about an Albion performance since MA was picking the team. Sounds like Paynter wasn't alone in being a bit shit?

Yes I absolutely hope he does see this thread, that would really help his confidence. It's not as if he needs any at the moment is it?

So should we all be saying he's f***ing amazing? People need to realize they're not doing something right to improve...

A fair and accurate assessment. It was dreadful, and I actually thought Paynter showed some nice touches and movement here, was runner up for MoM at half time but thats not saying a lot!

The only plus points from Saturday were Reyes still looking like a quality player, and the second half atmosphere in the southern section of WSU which was great.

Just far enough away from LDC
Paynter couldn't hit a barn door even if he was holding the handle

So its his kicking that's a problem now? Not just his.jumping? Well for someone who 'can't kick' he did well to back heel the ball to noone, hold the play up and bring smith and vincelot into the game when he came on and three or four runs from deep that pushed us forward. There were a couple of lay offs on the edge of three box and one woeful shot that didn't come off but that did show a player short on confidence who hesitated and over complicated rather than trust instinct.
