No WELCHING from me - just solidarity, and standing up to bullies, rip off merchants and cynics everywhere. Live and on NSC alike. Although I prefer to conduct my arguments/discussions/whatever face to face, so if anyone has any further comments (especially you, Simster) I'm not difficult to find...

i can't see as this thread has anything to do with bullies, rip off merchants or cynics. it's a simple football bet where you offered £500 to the winner's cause of choice......now i can't really see a round in the bar, however large and expensive it may be, is quite sticking to the bet.

It's not my argument this and I wouldn't normally get involved: but if that exchange of e-mails is correct and hasn't been tampered with, I think Attilla owes £500 to TLB's footballing cause, not the Falmer bar. Absolutely no question - gentlemen and players and all that.

I have a bet with Gwylan that Sven would not manage to improve the position on the next team he joined after a season in charge, compared to the last season for that club.
I think I am now certain to lose this bet and it's pissed me off, any ideas on how I can avoid paying?
The wind up excuse has been used, so I need an ORIGINAL if implausible reason not to pay

the bet was for £500 to the footballing cause of the winners choice so it'll be TLB's charity choice that loses out. Which could even have been REMF for all we know.

Indeed. Charity is the loser - to the tune of 500 sheets. Enough to pay to keep alive over 25 African children and buy them a nice football to kick about.
