The lady sat immediately in front of us on our flight (from Southampton) to Amsterdam, worked for the club and had her Ajax tickets (her and her young son) through the club. It was pretty clear from her conversations that she was not a regular away traveller.

She said that it had been possible for them to get club tickets for Marseilles, too - but that the club had actually recommended the staff not to attend that.

That doesn’t sound very fair to me.

The club have always set aside away tickets for sponsors and staff. The ones which are not taken go back on the site near the fixture. I personally don’t have an issue with either staff or sponsors getting tickets without the required points.

Its an unpopular policy though, and despite constant people voicing their displeasure, including 1901 passing tickets onto Liverpool supporters into the away end at Anfield. Its nonsense and should really change.

Yeah, and once again, I know a lot of people who are 1901 who go every week, like yourself, I’ve got no heat with them. I would say a majority of people I know who go to the games are irked by this loophole. On if they were comps they told me at the time, they were ‘hospitality at Brighton’.

I missed the post where you’d confirmed hospitality - apologies.

However, once again , as per my post in the Liverpool thread you should have reported them as it is not allowed for 1901 or any other fan to pass tickets to opposing fans.
That was confirmed to me by PBOBE.

Edit - as per @Herr Tubthumper post, i once won a competition and was placed with away supporters…… not that I was supporting either side, so possibly not 1901.

I mean it doesn’t take a genius to work out what it meant, that’s one example, when I went to United people I know had given a ticket to a United fan to go in the away end on a 1901 ticket. I stand by my point it shouldn’t be a benefit, it isn’t fair on fans who have accumulated points.

You misunderstand. Report the seat numbers to the club.
They can trace the 1901 member/other source. Albeit a slightly different point, opposing fans should not be in our end.

They could be Albion members, who just go to two games per season.

Defender of all 1901ers without any reason, I’ve given you another piece of anecdotal evidence from Manchester United, it does happen, it cannot be denied. It shouldn’t be a benefit.

I don’t understand why there is never a chance it’s a 1901 ticket, but always a chance it’s a member, if it’s a member why would they say it’s hospitality if they are members. These people breaking the rules don’t need to be defended every time, some people are taking the piss.

I agree, but we’re in the unknown on how tickets are sauced. People might not like it, Liverpool and Manure have vast followings, it’s always been the way, demand matches that. Cheap as chips to buy an Albion membership, then home and away tickets twice a year. Compare that to spending £100’s with a tout who’s probably a scammer. The drop off this season from the heady Albion days of 3k away no matter the distance, was a golden opportunity.

Then Amex games …. I personally know supporters of Spurs, Arsenal and Newcastle who are Albion members, they can’t stand the Albion. They get to see their expensively bought heroes once a season.

Due to the collapse of our season, I suspect home fans are going to irked by Chelsea and Manure fans overtly near them very soon.

I’m not denying it happens i.e. Brighton fans helping other Brighton fans, it’s a benefit so why wouldn’t it? I’m just calling out your, at best, flimsy evidence about passing tickets onto away fans. You literally typed “including 1901 passing tickets onto Liverpool supporters into the away end at Anfield.” That’s quite a bold and damning statement. When challenged by another poster you then admitted you were told they were “hospitality tickets”. My point is you do not know where they got their tickets from but were keen to point the finger at 1901 Club members.

You don’t agree with the benefit which you’re entitled to, but you have jumped to conclusions to support your argument.

Yep, I know several too. Also, any Man U fan wanting a ticket can now buy a discounted A+ membership today safe in the knowledge they’ll be able to buy an exchange ticket a day or two before the game in a couple of weeks (14 day rule) - this happens with all the big team visits. Probably overall still cheaper than going to OT.
