Thank you to everyone who voted for my pseudonym Nigel Summers. Like Hiney I am looking forward to getting involved.

There has never been a F.A.B. before, and this is a club initiative that we couldn't have dreamt of 25 years ago.

It is up to the members of this first F.A.B. to make it a success, and this will mean understanding the issues that are important to fans of all ages and all sections of the fanbase.

Some of the negativity on here and on twitter is unbelievable. It seems that some people are only ever happy when they're unhappy.

Give it a chance. Engage with the FAB members with a realistic wish list, and you never know we might actually enhance the fan experience at what is already one of the best clubs I the country.

I hope that the club will support mechanisms that will allow the fan base to communicate with the reps and vice versa. That’s a lot of people being represented by a few.

There were younger people nominated, they just didn’t win.

Perhaps, just like with other votes, young people haven’t bothered voting and then don’t like the results

As much as having very little to work with I did make a point of including someone in my votes without 20 years of watching the Albion who was younger (cross referenced with Twitter to be sure) for a broad church.

Anyway it’s done now, let’s hope it’s successful and actually makes a difference.

Out of interest does anyone know how long the tenure is , is it seasonal or longer?

2 year term, I think.

Congrats! No negativity from me, I think the introduction of this is a very positive thing for the club and I shall definitely be engaging with the FAB with potential ideas.

I voted for Paul Samrah’s son as one of my four sth votes. It’s a shame he isn’t one of the winners.

So did I. I figured he ticked the generation and Albion knowledge boxes.

That wasn’t remotely my point though

I could say a lot more to this but I wont. This is exactly why we needed a least one younger representative on the board. We should have had an under 30 category or something like it.

Then vote for them. It couldn’t be simpler.

I can’t imagine Gen Z taking bucket loads of Charlie and restarting the whole football violence thing makes many people over 35 trust them

*sigh*

It would be quite easy to find a younger fan who didn’t fit into that somewhat lazy stereotype. I think it’s a logical thing to point that in order to have a truly representative fan board, you need representatives from across the age brackets.

You could equally stereotype and say what’s the point in having older fans on there, because they’re not the ones bothered by having a decent atmosphere.

Embarrassing take, genuinely embarrassing. I shouldn't be surprised when I'm confronted with people out of touch with reality and yet I continue to remain surprised and dismayed. I'm sorry you feel that way about an entire generation of people, I dare not ask what other stereotypes you believe in outside of age....

I'm giving you a reason to mobilise your vote, which you seem to have totally failed to do.

And, on a personal level, I know Hiney and the insinuation that he wouldn't represent ALL supporters regardless of demographic as completely insulting. He has a Brighton supporting son. I imagine he'll be consulting him.

You and Brian Fantana are both coming over as people who had a dog in the fight and don't like how the fight turned out.

I’ve made the point on this thread that I didn’t vote for anyone because I didn’t know anyone personally and didn’t feel there was enough information provided to form a fair opinion on any of the candidates.

So you’re insulted by that insinuation but you’re quite happy to paint an entire generation as cocaine takers?

Quite a few of that age group are as pissed off with the coke-snorting, excessive drinking, ignorant of everything and anyone else crew as the old gits amongst us. What was done to encourage younger fans to stand ? From what I’ve seen up till now the fan’s forums are pretty much a middle-aged gathering of old farts as it is, so no surprise they aren’t going to be fully represented on the FAB.

I’m maintaining my cynicism about the whole thing for now.

well it already looks like those elected aren’t up to much. Not a single sign of anything that they have changed for the better since they were elected.

get out, the lot of them.
