When I find out tomorrow if there are more trains, my friend is able to download his ticket to a friend of mine and there are chips and decent sausages I will then make a judgement on if Fans Reps are making a difference. Appreciate may take a few weeks to widen steps and put shelter over P&R queue

Again, I would love to see the results of the vote, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. I'm done with this conversation anyway, its the same story every time you engage an extremist. Speaking to someone like that is like smashing your head against a wall, it just hurts the brain. I'm sorry, genuinely, that you hold such extreme views about over 25 million people in the general population and I am happy for you that you don't have to worry about cocaine addled violence besmirching the Fan Advisory Board.

I'm broadly in agreement with your point. As I'm sure I posted way back on this thread, it struck me that there were going to be a lot of white middle-aged straight male applicants for the FAB, so it didn't need another one, ie me.

However, the club clearly decided to partially anonymise the applicants with no photographs and no age stated, leaving fans with a few words on each on which to make their decision. That said, in most cases, the sex of each applicant could be guessed with a high degree of confidense and forenames give a decent clue as to age - there aren't too many 20-somethings called Ian, Nigel and Clive.

But should the voting counts be revealed to you, what conclusion(s) do you expect to be able to draw?

I feel pretty confident in saying that not many people voted for a varety of reasons including...

- not seeing the email(s) - many club emails seem to go to the Gmail promotions tab or spam
- seeing the email but not being interested
- seeing the email but not knowing enough about sufficient candidates to be able to vote

The latter position is mine. I knew two people standing but I didn't know the others, nor did I feel the concise bios gave me enough information to enable me to differentiate between them. I spend approximately 30 seconds per week on twitter, so whoever was canvassing on there and/or whoever is complaining now has completely paseed me by.

So. please play along: you get the vote counts and they reveal that there was a very poor turnout, to use election parlance. What do you then do?

Have young (under 30s) ever been represented in society? They certainly are not in any form of government, and when they are it’s usually a snotty William Hague type (young Tory) or a Young Ones Rick type socialist worker. The silent majority in all age groups and demographics are just that… silent.

He was a public school boy faux communist

This, my friend, is a true socialist man of the people.

Firstly to address it, I didn't vote in the FAB, because I am not a STH nor a MyAlbion+ member. I live in the USA currently and so cannot attend any games, and haven't been able to since 2015, much to my chagrin. It pains me greatly to say I've never seen Albion play PL football in the flesh. Without those memberships you could not vote, and so I didn't. I don't think that means I am ineligible to point out the lack of representation on the board though, and I am surprised about the visceral response I've received for simply asking a question.

In answer to your question about getting the vote counts, this is then something you can, as someone with an online presence reach a good chunk of people in that target demographic to work out why. Were the people campaigning for these people like myself and based elsewhere so unable to vote? Were some of the youth members 5-10 votes off winning a place and it comes down to fine margins? Was it a case of elder fans avoiding voting for the youth because they believe every single person under aged 35 is a violent cocaine addict? The data can present all sorts of interesting information and allows people to dig into that to work out where the opportunity for that representation is falling short, for what its worth I would be asking the same questions if the FAB was all male. If it was a case of a handful of votes being the difference then its just unlucky, if its something else then a lot of these younger content creators can hold those conversations with thousands of fans in that demographic and work out what happened there in order to try and get that representation 2 years from now.

Have to say I am trying to stay open minded to this even as a big cynic of the bloke that runs the club on a day to day level (Barber) but it's not been a great start.

Thankfully a couple of NSCers on the board who might actually go for something other than the party line should actually mean that the club receiving feedback in advance of a decision is a good thing, rather than using the whole thing as a smokescreen to justify the decisions.

Fingers crossed this is a genuine example of Brighton fan democracy making a difference

That's because only power hungry ideologue dipshits get involved in anything political.

Normal people don't have the desire to push their views onto people and give up that much of their time in pursuit of doing that.

And, no I haven't. You said that demographic had been totally overlooked. They hadn't. At least three nominees from that demographic. They just didn't win.

So, I would suggest that if you want that group represented then you campaign for that group. I mean, you do have a Brighton and Hove Albion fan podcast and twitter, don't you?

Just like to emphasise I have never done coke in my life (I saw some reference to coke heads), and I only get invited onto a podcast occasionally, because for some odd reason they find me funny (don’t laugh at me it only encourages me), anyway disappointing that there isn’t young representatives on the board. Titanic has met me and I’m always friendly. My issue is with the fact that people who have literally NO social media presence have got on the fan advisory board. Yeah that’s fine not everyone who voted is on Twitter, or Facebook or NSC, but as Bozza said, turnout was low, so where did the votes come from? Just random clicking? It doesn’t make sense, so either turnout was high, and people picked at random or people were influenced by age. It’s incredibly disappointing that people from my demographic (under 40) are not represented. We make up a huge amount of the support, and we would like to have a say on decisions that affect us. I put myself forward because of the encouragement of people my age (and above) wanted representation (I did it on the last day), and we have absolutely no representation.

Anyway I’m very happy Hiney got on the fan advisory board because when I was 12 and on North Stand Chat and found the Hiney Art thread it was funny as f*ck

It’s almost one candidate could actually have a direct influence over this

Why did they announce it 4 days late? I cleared my day on 17th May and no apology or anything, and then after 17th of May I got one email to say I would hear either way on the Tuesday, nothing, I heard at midday on the Friday, via an email that was copy and pasted and then I was later told to delete, a complete waste of 4 days, luckily I went to do what I planned to do, but they kept us in Limbo for 4 days, why? God knows.

And what a load of crap this is, I get involved in politics because I see people suffering and want them to have a better life, not continue to live in poverty. It’s not because I’m power hungry.

And also Seb Samrah and Tom Hylands deserved it way more than me, because I’m ultimately just a loud dickhead

You don't need to be involved in politics to do that.

So you're the one that's full of crap.

OK The_Viper as you seem a little reluctant to answer, here we go.

You have a youtube, Twitter and podcast called TogetherBHA (which is actually not bad with decent guests)

Yet the first time you decided you were interested in this issue was literally today when you posted:

[TWEET]1527991134189981697[/TWEET]

And, I presume, are trying to boost your 11 likes for that tweet on here.

Either you're an influencer or you're not. But, as I've said, you seem to be moaning about the outcome of something you couldn't be bothered to try and influence, despite having over 1000 followers and relationships with other blogs and casts.

This is very unfair on him

I’m not, I volunteer for a charity most weeks, and don’t belong to any political party so stop talking shit, I ran for council in Huddersfield when I was at University because I saw that the greens, Labour and tories did nothing for the local area. So jog on.
