Have been talking to many folk in Seaford and trying to get them to sign the petition.

Most seem convinced that this about preserving the South Downs.
If a football stadium is built, what next? Many are convinced that the Albion will need supermarkets etc built around them to survive.

Also most believe that it will only cost Lewes DC a few thousand to appeal becuse they have heard that others will be chipping in with cash. A few thous is worth preserving the Downs.

Whether these views are getting through to Lewes DC I don't know.

:nono: :nono: :nono:

What did you expect? To find someone in Seaford that had a brain? :lolol:

Made our lives hell? Erm, no not really. They may be top flouncers unable to accept democratic will, but that is way over the top.

It's rather like me criticising that dork on here (who's name escapes me) for costing me a decent standard of living by giving me a bunch of crappy naps day after day after day and insisting I back them. :jester:

To be honest i find this sort of arrogance a bit worrying, I dont think its as clear cut as some on here beleive.

I also did not like the slating of the Falmer residents after prescots decision. Its things like that that motivate opponenets.

I think to many people here live in a goldfish bowl. I cant be the only one who sees it like this surely?

That is an excellent post in my opinion and makes a number of very relevant points. A very large number of successful planning applications do not actualy proceed with building. It can all flounder on the little things like access roads, visibility splays and drainage.

Winding up residents and the abuse aimed at them only strengthens their resolve and their case. The arguments on here have become a new religion for some and you are still waiting to be lead to the promised land. Reading some of the rubbish on here and the attitudes to Falmer residents is actually making me feel less supportive of the cause. I wouldn't want to be associated with those attitudes or people who espouse them.

I have had dealings with some of these organisations who are helping the Falmer residents and they believe just as passionately in their cause. They are decent people and to treat them as some do is just plain stupid. I don't want to see the piecemeal destruction of the Downs and can understand where they are coming from. And yes, I have written letters, signed petitions and gone on a march in support of Falmer.

I have not got a heavy down on the NIMBYs because they are entitled to their opinion.

It is a different matter with certain football-haters in the Downs lobby that are using taxpayer's money to mislead the public over the merits of a subsidised ploughed field of low fertility which would best be taken out of agricultural production.

Furthermore, their public representatives (South Donws Conservation Board) have shown an arrogant disregard for the public not only with their dogmatic attitude over the Falmer Stadium application but they a have annoyed the residents of Telscombe (ove Telscombe Nye), Lancing and Sompting (over Lancing Ring), Shoreham (over Mill Hill) with their rudeness, arrogance and darn right asinine stupidity. Anybody else had any trouble with these tossers?

I do not suppose the Shoreham Port supporters and people of Sheepcote Valley, Toad's Hole, were too keen on their behaviour at the Public Inquiry either. And what do the people of Whitehawk Hill think of them?

Where the vegetation, buildings etc either side of a road junction are "splayed" backwards from the junction so you can see up the road when you're trying to get out in a car / lorry etc

That is verging on suffocation. Surely extenuated circumstances could speed up the process due to the length of the appeal etc.

Could be as late as June - but might be earlier......

What is needed is an updated briefing on why Falmer is a better enviornmental alternative than the other sites (eg slap bang next to a train station, so less polluting car journeys, other sites eg Waterhall would also mean building on green space and would mean more car journeys etc). Anyone got the full stats to hand?

I feel confident that we have won. If you call that arrogance then that is your opinion.
I do think that LDC are wasting their time. I believe this is a delaying tactic only hoping that we go under in the meantime.

If calling people fools is slating people (I have never slated the Falmer residents here or elswhere) then I suggest you go back and amend every single post you have ever made on Nsc.
