Reading the re-grouping/re-branding thread on the Blue Brigade forum, 'North Stand Ultras' seems like the best alternative to me. Simple, easy to remember.

For this to work however, it really needs to be a group of dedicated people who are totally committed to the cause, rather than half arsed people more intent on winding up away fans, moaning at stewards etc. If we're serious about setting up a real ultras group, it'll involve putting on shows and displays, big flags and various other things. Fair play to the scum, they've done it before and arguably it looks quite good. So have York, so there is no reason why this can't work. I for one, am most certainly in.

Why does it have to have a name or any organisation at all?

So far as I'm concerned I've only ever wanted to be in the part of the ground that has the best atmosphere. Which meant the North Stand at the Goldstone, and H Block at Withdean. For Falmer, all I wanted to know was where to choose a seat (or ideally a non-reserved seat) - and thanks to NSC and the Facebook group I'm now pretty sure I know. So, big cheers for that

I would definatly be up for helping out in any way i can,i know it wasn't everyones cup of tea but it was me and a few mates who brought the inflatables and balloons at the end of the season to just try and create an atmosphere,so i won't have a problem putting my hand in my pocket again to help get this going properly, just needs to be sorted out properly and organised.

I think the main reason for the start of an organisation is because the standards of the 'best atmosphere' as you put it, have fallen drastically. Think there's a pretty clear reason as to why, Withdean isn't the place for it. Alot of people who think that as soon as we get to Falmer, the atmosphere will immediately be ten times better. They might be right in fairness, but I personally have never experienced a decent home atmosphere with the Albion since my Albion era started late at Priestfield and the main bulk of it has consisted of Withdean. So I'm sorry if you don't agree with the idea of an ultras group, but I'd do pretty much anything to ensure that we can turn our home support as good as it tends to be away.

Good stuff. I wouldn't be too worried about a lack of interest in any of these threads or the facebook group, as longs as you can drum up about 10 or 20 people over the summer for the first home game next season, more will follow.

I'm in by the way, why not it'll be a giggle if nothing else.

Exactly, i think it's great that people are trying to organise it, but i dont think it needs to have a name et all necessarily. I'll probably sit in the North stand, as like THPP says it appears thats where the majority (not all) the atmosphere will come from. All it needs is 1500 or so who are happy to go along most weeks in the North stand and get the atmosphere going... then hopefully im sure the rest of the ground will join in when they want too. Look at the numbers we took to Southampton, Wycombe, Charlton and Orient just as examples, shows its easily possible.
If we can get something going like the end behind the goal at pompey, who as much as i dislike, the times i've been you must admit create a decent noise, ill be happy, because when they start, slowly the rest of fratton park joins in. I think the North Stand could, and almost certainly will be great for atmosphere, im afraid i just think you've got a job on your hands to sort out flags etc every week.

Good stuff. During the summer we should create a sticky thread to organise everything.

Perhaps a dry run could be arranged at a home friendly in the summer.

I'm not sure what the average age of people would be but a pub crawl on the way to withdean could be a laugh and a few beers would would help pople lose their inhabitions?

If you have any ideas regarding flags, let me know and i'll look into getting some made.

You're kidding right?

Swindon play-off semi-final? Man City? Not a single evening game? Not even the other Swindon game when we clinched the double Championes under Taylor or the game on Easter Monday when we overtook bottle-jobs Reading with a Lee Steele header in the 90++ minute? How about he game where we did The Great Escape under Salde?

Do you sit in the North Stand at Withdean by any chance? ???

Reckon the Falmer North Stand will chiefly consist of Withdean H Block + Current Away Support

With a roof to trap the sound, that will make one HELLUVA din! :clap2:

Yep I'm up for this too, but please lets not call it the "Falmer North Stand Lads" as per that facebook group as it sounds very gay and chavy !

Agreed.

It doesn't need a name, just enough organisation so that 30 people can wave some flags and sing songs in unison.

Absolutely nothing in comparison to other home sides I've experienced.

Leicester winning promotion against us, Leeds always have it good at home, as do Blackpool, Millwall. I'd argue the atmosphere that Luton created when they beat us in the Micky Mouse cup was as electric as any of the games you've mentioned.

Granted, they were all much better than the average game at Withdean, but I've rarely experienced the hairs on the back of my neck standing up at home, when it's almost regular away!

Oh, and I sat in H/J block for just under half of the season. I moved to D block in November.

Yep, spot on.
Many of the new supporters who will come along will also be of the younger generation, and its surely common knowledge that most of those would rather be in/create an atmosphere than sat all game.

Under your skin.
IMO next season might be a bit on the early side. If something like this is started and doesn't work out well it might make people think that their is no point to it at Falmer.

I think next season needs to be used as a season for getting stuff ready and trial matches. E
Maybe everyone meeting up for some games at Withdean OR away games that we won't take loads to but will still be fairly local. (P'boro & Exeter maybe.)

I'm up for doing this but it's going to need a lot of planning if it's going to work.

I know this all mainly for falmer but i also think we need to try and get somethings sorted to get a better atmosphere for the last season at withdean, though as we know it's easier said than done.

Anyone got any ideas for next season that we would actually be allowed to do?

As other have said, I am now of the opinion that the group does not need to be called ultras, fanatics or lads. Just Falmer North Stand, simple as.

We all know it will be difficult to get anything going at Withers but at least we could start displaying the flags, banners etc if nothing else?

I Agree. Yes singing would be nice but with no roof it is nearly imposibal to make any decent sound (people can always just join in with H block if they really want to sing.) Having any banners/flags etc up would be a good start so we can see what we are missing and what needs to be purchased. It would also get the hardcore group introduced to each other and means they can plan any away game trials.

I don't think a Name is worth having. IMO loads of flags all with BHAFC on them would look better than all the flags saying " Brighton North Stand Ultras" or whatever.

I think we need to identify at least ten or so people who will sit close for every home game. Then speak to the club about what will and wont be allowed. And target say 5ish test games to trial ideas.

Could we get either a sticky or sub-forum would be ideal.

I'll start a list. And where I'm planning to sit but I can move this as I've not brought next years st yet.

1.Drumstick - H/D block.
2.jjt1976 - ? block
3. Falmer4all - D block?
