Ok..were within a month or less of hearing hopefully the YES of all YESSES!

How many years now...how much money....how many delays and appeals.....?

As fans its fair to say were exhausted..But it must be even worse for Knight,Perry and board..god they must be so sick of it...

Anyways..as far as im concerened the bint will say yes...but what then.....?
I dont think LDC will have much to come back with....maybe a few delays here and then..but nothing major..imho...The thing that worries me is money...Ive just got a horrible feeling the building of it will take double the amount of time its supposed.

I hope Im wrong..but its been a fight until now..can anyone see that changing.??
Knight will proberly get given the money to build it and keep it locked in his aston martin that gets stolen by belloti's son..or something ridiculous like that...

Do you think it will be smooth sailing after the yes vote?

The stadium has not gone out to tender yet ( they cant legally until the PE has been satisfied), therefore McAlpines will have to tender as well as every other builder.

I won't believe anything until the earth literally starts moving.

The estimates were a while ago and costs will have gone up.

They've never been contracted to do the work! It will be a bidding/quote process like they HAVE to have, to decide all stadiums. Perry no longer works for Mccalpine.

I good way to raise money, is have an auction/raffle for the fans, and the winner gets to lay the first brick of the new ground

That isn't a bad idea, Wolves have sold put plaques on the bricks inside their stadium, which fans pay to have their name put onto. It is quite a popular idea as lots of fans want to leave an everlasting mark on their teams stadium.

It doesn't raise much, but every little counts.

I'd love the club to do something like that. I'd definately get one.

McAlpine?

Surely Derek Chapman wants a slice of the building-Falmer-pie?

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I thought of two times the other day, both relating to final spells at the GOLDSTONE. The first concerned us losing 3-0 at home to the promotional Blackburn, i think, David Speedie hat-trick or something, and then a load of us on a sit-down protest outside the ground. I saw Kenny Daglish up close, but mostly remember us all in protest and a horse doing a massive wee, no shame or hesitation on it's overlong head as this gush burst free from it's unstoppable club.
The second memory was of a number of people running for Hove Council building to move a protest to a democratic edifice, and maybe smash a few windows. I was just running; not for a bus or a train back to my struggling home of Lewes, but i didn't really know where we were going or why, and was also terrified of explaining myself to the law. Police were sort of limping along as they got word that something was happening.

Mostly, though, it's just thinking about how long ago that was, that i was just a hairy child in protest and now an elderly with greying form still sat waiting for a decision. Like being at a bus-stop for 14 years having fought so hard for the 5B to change it's course slightly and allow me to be picked up and alighted where i chose. The pile of magazines i brought for the wait are slowly running out, and my heart most likely won't beat at this speed for much longer, so please, the 5B, come and get me. I peer out into the street at times, checking my footsteps to ensure i don't tread in yet another dog ploppage, and check the fag butts and overused hankies that float in the soaked Autumn gutter, counting for no good reason, but nothing is actually rolling near me with it's bright lights and freshened seats and advertisement sidings. Something seemed personally unjust, and it's just not been put right.
