Brain dead MUG SHEEP
A quality gathering of NSC legends today at the Falmer demo, and, apart from the result, an absolutely top afternoon. Copious beer on the bridge over the A27, along with some splendid tomato soup provided by the Albion via Derek Chapman, good work fella. Everything went swimmingly, apart from bursting two of my cans of lager when I carelessly tossed the bag down on the bridge, and had to suck those ruptured cans for all I was worth so as not to waste too much. Sorry for spraying you, Chappers.
I was at one point convinced that I'd wondered onto the set of Lord of the Rings. We had the rolling downland of Middle Earth to the south. Set against this we had the all-wise, all-knowing Gandalf (Lord Bracknell), little Frodo (The Famous Grouse), and the lovely Arwen (Trotster). Beach Hut was passable as Gimli the dwarf, although some were claiming he was not a million miles from Baldrick...Then there were the Orcs, convincingly represented by Safeway, Fatboy, Trigger, Artois, and Chappers. As for me, I think I filled the rugged Vigo Mortensen "Aragorn" role quite well. Beard, and everything.
A splendid evening then followed at the Duke of Wellington, where Trotster delighted us all with her new party piece, her all new "squeeze a spot into Safeways drink" routine. Highly entertaining, and not without some dexterity with the digits. We can only dream to aspire to such skills.
Bloody good day all round - special thanks to Everest for the lift. Great once again to meet Chappers, Safeway, Artois, Lord B, Beach Hut, Roz, Gullet, BHA Matt, Ben Eltons Brother, Trotster, Famous Grouse, Trigger, Poke, Fatboy...and anyone else who I met today but havn't mentioned. I'm tired, and I got bollocked when I got in. Well worth it though. She'll get over it.
Loads of toots from supportive drivers, plus the odd finger from those not so much on our side. No matter, excellent day today.
Marvellous scenes.
