I think anyone who puts up with long unsociable hours and financial uncertainty of maintaining their own business , yet still retains enthusiasm, creativity and a keen eye on provenance deserves respect and is entitled to their opinion.
As regards street food, wasn't it ever thus? Innovation comes from the margins, moves to the mainstream and then the venture capitalists and ad men get involved. Plus ca change, innit

As a rejoinder, I'd take the word of any 'provider' who has built up a reputation on quality and value over any customer who knows they can shop anywhere, for that is their right, and it's their money, and they're always right, ...
He seems to be saying he's not making money So who is right the business losing or not making enough money Or the customer who has money to spend As you know it's hard running a business And unfortunately The customer has a big partto play

Perhaps he just didn’t like an entitled little woopsy turning up before he was prepped, demanding food, like a hungry toddler.

When are people going to get that food is not ubiquitous. It entirely depends on what you’re prepared to pay and personally define as eg ‘a burger’, a ‘hotdog’ etc and also the outlet and location you buy from. All these it’s so expensive, it’s over priced remarks don’t realise the fine margins that exist in foodservice. If you’re eating at a chain, you’re paying for the Head Office too in that miserable looking bowl of pasta. Moreover, you’re not prepared to pay more and are taking advantage of kids eat free and 10% off coupons in the hope you’ll buy an Highly profitable Pepsi or the like too. It’s insanely difficult to make decent money in foodservice, it’s why 50% of new starters (of which there’s no shortage of) go bust every year. Anyone setting up in that line of work has my instant respect and best wishes - having worked in for 20 years. Oh, and then there’s the General Public to deal with. What a nightmare we all are with our over sensed levels of entitlement and expectations! :)

I paid £14.50 for a chickpea burger, chips and a shitty leaf salad in the Preston Park Tavern that was so underwhelming I haven't bothered to put a review in the Restaurant thread.

Plenty more people taking the piss with pricing than the Troll. (appreciate the difference in overheads here but their meat burger was the same price)

I’m sure they are amazing and I would love to try one but to describe himself as wanting to offer affordable prices to working class people is a bit off right?

Greggs on the other hand is popular because they do offer apparent popular food at affordable prices?

In Spain your standard bar/restaurant lunchtime meal deal is around a tenner. These lunchtime offers were specifically designed for workers who were unable to get for home for lunch, ensuring they could get a decent meal. Wages in Spain are significantly lower than the UK so why is it the Spanish can afford it but Brits can't?

If you can afford to spend a tenner on 2 pints, you could pay the same for a burger. It's about priorities, not price. Of course if you are genuinely poor, which many working class people are not, eating a ten pound burger may be beyond your means.

Maybe He needs to be a bit more customer focused My son went for a burger there at two minutes to 12 He was told he don't start until 12 A lost customer As a small business you have to move a little
The reason possibly may have been to do with the terms of his operating licence which may have strictly forbidden him opening before 12. So maybe he didn't want to risk losing his operating licence and thereby his business.

You obviously are yet to try Burger Brothers' Benetton burger. It's got all sorts of shit that I wouldn't normally want in a burger but it's :smokin::):bowdown::ohmy:
