France a football nation. That was a long time ago. Just a bunch of cheats and divers. Even their world cup win was rumoured to have been fixed.

They would've had a better case taking FIFA to court over the unbeivable way they changed the rules of the comp by seeding the big teams in the play offs. That is a much bigger cheat than what Henry did.

And if they had taken their chances it wouldn't have even gone to extra time!!!

I was suprised to hear this game would go to extra time. Surely gives the home team of the 2nd leg an advantage (a small one, I admit).

Yeah cos smaller countries that qualify have never contributed anything to a a good world cup have they?

I heard on "talksport" from a reporter not a broadcaster !! that there was a case in Denmark where something similar happened and the Danish FA or Club Sued the player for loss of earnings for not progressing in a cup or something and won. The reporter kinda hinted that Ireland as a country could sue Henry for loss of earnings for not getting to the world cup. Where would that end i wonder the local Irish newsagent sueing him aswell because they would have sold more papers if ireland had of made it................................

Get a grip Ireland, learn from your superiors accross the sea and live with it and be bitter like we still are against Argentina. At least they will think twice now when they re-watch the hand of god before they shout Maradonnas name. Wot goes around comes around.........................

Yes it was bad, and Ireland now have their own 'Maradona' moment - but that's the way it goes. The ref is in control of the match and he didn't give it at the time, end of story, end of debate.
