Some tool on the telly now wanting a rematch. If that happens it'll be a disaster for football.

"I would give the advice to Fifa - maybe in the future change the rules about the play-off. Play two games and at the end of 90 minutes have no extra-time. I will go to Fifa and advise them 'go straight to penalties'. It's better for football".

Course THAT'D help wouldn't it Gio.

Dubious yes but the financial aspects come into play don't they ? I would love to hear PRATini's opinion on that 'goal' however. The little twat can hardly say he didn't see it. Well, maybe, after all he talks out of his arse for a start.

Replays are just a complete non-starter. Its a precedent they simply CANNOT set.
How the hell could you schedule a replay in the middle of a World Cup / Euros tournament, when you're playing every 3-4 days ? What about the venue and ticketing arrangements ? Security ?

Just THINK about it you silly sods.

No chance. FIFA wouldn't even have done it if it had happened the other way round, sending France out.

You're right of course. They should just kick France out and be done with it.

I'm not in any way unsympathetic to their plight but they're whining a bit and it's getting a bit boring: Fifa (not UEFA) aren't going to change their minds and replay it and nor should they. It's shit but it happens.

France should accept the offer to replay the game, safe in the knowledge their buddies in power would never sanction it anyway. That way they clear their name. If not, anything they achieve in South Africa will be tainted by the worldwide suspicion of cheating.

I actually have a sneaking suspicion that France will somehow muddle through and WIN the thing now.
Its just the kind of thing that HAPPENS.

It won't happen, but it should.

What SHOULD happen, is that France would offer to replay the game, a la Arsenal - Sheffield United. Which is why I believe the FAI have directed their appeal to the FFA rather than FIFA. But theres no chance really.

Henry must surely face individual discipline though.

Would rather have France in the world cup than Ireland. One is a real footballing nation the other is just shit.
