I really severely dislike RvN for what he has done to our Facundo. 4 goals and 2 assists before he was appointed a now barely gets a game. They can’t score to save their life and he’s one of the most attacking players they have. We should have taken him back in January. Van Nistelrooy has to go down as one of the worst managerial appointments of all time. Cooper got them 10 points from his 12 games and had them out of the relegation zone when he was sacked, horsehead has subsequently managed 7 points from his 15 games, one of which we bloody inexplicably gift-wrapped for them.

They've lost 13 out of 14 league games since then, scoring 3 and conceding 37, and haven't even scored since January. Can't wait to see them play Saints, it's going to be a fascinating shit-a-thon.

That's the nature of loan spells though right? It's a risky thing to do? A new manager can come in with a different idea, the fans can clamour for players who actually belong to the club. It's a hazard inherent in the system.

But it doesn't mean anything. Ayari recovered from very ordinary loan spells to contribute hugely. Facu can as well, if that's what Hurzeler wants

Very rare these days that PL clubs appoint managers that are straight up bad, but this guy just oozes incompetence.

Not saying they would have stayed up with Cooper, but they would certainly have had a chance.

Agree with the sentiment but I read somewhere the issue was he'd played a certain number of games which meant we couldn't get him back. Not gospel but just passing on as a reason to why he didn't return in January??

It was reported in a few places that he'd played too many games for us to terminate the deal. It was also reported after the window closed that Leicester wanted to cancel the deal because they wanted someone else in on loan. Now this could just be a story thrown out there by Ruud as he keeps throwing Facundo under the bus but there is always an option to cancel a loan deal if both sides agree. If true I'm surprised that route wasn't taken unless Leicester asked about it so late in the window we felt like we wouldn't have been able to find him another loan deal.

I've said it before but hopefully the club have learnt from this. Any future loan deals that include a non break clause if a player reaches a certain number of games, also now come with a caveat that a change of manager renders that null and void. The count starts again based on the number of games left before the transfer window opens. This would protect us if it became clear a new manager didn't fancy one of our loanees and we could terminate the deal.

Leicester is a surprisingly pleasant town. Decent, lively town centre, great food choices and a carpark with a built in king. What's not to like?

I kinda agree. We had that with Mac Allister when he went to Boca and we had to pay them a break fee to bring him back early (totally worth it), but it's something I can also understand teams that loan our players wanting to include.

Would we have been happy to have Colwill return to Chelsea mid-way through our season whilst trying to qualify for Europe? Absolutely not. Essentially, if a player becomes key to a team achieving their objectives, it makes sense for them to try and protect their interests. It's just unfortunate that Buonanotte went from a manager that rated him to one who seemingly doesn't.

What a weird headline - "Ruud van Nistelrooy was left astonished" - that sounds as if he was attacked by Buonanotte, whereas the article clearly states that it was him who 'had a go' - and that it was the team that was astonished rather than horse-face.

As previously reported, getting Facu back was out of our hands as he'd made a certain number of appearances. I guess when the agreement was made the two most likely options were that he'd be played and be a success so staying for the full season made sense, or he wasn't getting enough playing time so would be brought back and loaned elsewhere like Barco has been. This weird third option of being a key part of how Leicester played in the first half of the season to now being left to rot because of the ego of RVN wasn't part of anyone's thinking. I doubt the club will use such clauses in the future.

RVN has always been a massive twat. No surprises that he's continued that way.
