…,you have to wonder. Not starting him appears a bit irrational otherwise.

1-0 up though
Tbf Jordan Ayew is the spawn of Satan and quite useful.

Would merely be a squad player if he came back, only to be loaned out again in the near future before his inevitable sale. We’d be lucky to break even.
Your first couple of points might be correct but we're absolutely going to make a profit on him. He was cheap and has done ok in the PL.

Err, he’s winning more fouls than any other Leicester player but go off!
Does dive a lot, in fairness. As does Veltman with his trademark fall forward onto the ball, then look at the ref manoeuvre. And Pedro for that matter.

This has been discussed on here before but it’s reflected in his stats that he is indeed fouled a lot. Bit silly to deride his ability to win free kicks rather than give praise though I suppose it means f*** all when we can’t score from them.

He is sometimes legitimately fouled because of his low centre of gravity and good touch, but he is also outmuscled regularly and can’t compete on that front, so throws himself down and moans at the ref - it’s his only option given his size.

I’m not going after one of our own, just looking objectively at it, he does dive a lot in order to “win” free kicks, and several of our other players do the same.

Well, a free kick is a free kick - it’s a positive however it’s won. And if we’re to put “win” in quotations for Facu we might as well do it for most players in the league.

Anyway, if it’s a part of his game that’s working, I’m happy to emphasize the upside.

I thought he'd improved a fair bit over the course of last season.

Initially, he had a lot of the Joao Pedros about him - would go down a lot, often for very little, and then stay down regardless of the impact on the team as play moved on.

Latterly I thought he'd improved on this a lot, which I put down to both experience and some of the senior pros, such as Milner, having a word with him.
