Is this guy a genius or just a lucky start ?

Four qualifying wins in a row is very good to say the least.

Fantastic qualifying start, i am delighted with the results.
However the jury is still out for me.

4 out of 4 with 12 goals scored in the last 3 suggests Capello knows what he is doing. Especially with Owen nowhere near the squad. I wasn't sure to start with but he has won me over.

In terms of tempo the fact the next world cup is in the South African winter is cracking news for us if we qualify. Normally, we look crap in summer tournaments becuase of the hot weather. Not this time.

Just know and trust this;

I was against Swain Boring Irksome, and obviously McClown - and my support is behind Fabio all the way.

Some people can tell the difference between someone who knows what he's doing in his profession, and a money-grabbing shifty turd.
The players approve and this time you can tell they respect the guy.
When he's on the touchline, he's always working, and putting at least as much into it as the players.

Fabio Capello = England's FC.

Paul Merson has just said on Sky - the key to us doing well is play at the tempo the players play at, week in, week out.

Capello has given them licence to go out and play with pace and when we do that, we can hurt anyone.

Still some sorting out to do in the middle of the park though - players doing short passes to each other but looking in doubt before losing the ball - a bit more tweaking and some solidarity with the squad needed.

He's been a proven winner at pretty much every job he's had, and this is shaping up to be no exception. He's moulding the team as he wants it, and the results of that are starting to show through. It's not just that we're winning games, it's that we're winning them well and looking good doing so. We're not the perfect finished article yet, but we could well be on the way.

Obviously there's a long way to go and no chickens should be counted yet, but dare we start to dream, even just a little bit?

bit of both. he's been lucky not to come against serious opposition other than Croatia, but he's instilled confidence and disipline to just keep to a game plan and drive on to victory.

Fair enough.

I didn't watch the game live but will catch the highlights. He certainly seems to be able to get the best out of Rooney. It's obvious that Rooney likes to play under a manager who rules with an iron fist!

Well I'm starting to really believe we have the right man for the job (after suffering a heap of muppets for years now). Fan-Fabiozie

NSC's Most Stalked
He f***ed around with the formation and players during the friendlies, people questioned his talents booed him off the pitch, and booed his decisions. There was outrage when only 70,000 turned up to a friendly against top 10 opposition which ended in a 2-2 draw. The negativity got beyond ridiculous

Now when it comes to what matters, the competitive games we are doing it when it counts, and everyone is playing OK.

He has to be creditted with that, as previous managers may not have got a result tonight or in Croatia

The reality is we should be good and should have won a World Cup beyond '66 and Bobby Robson came within an ace of it as well twice and was very unlucky.

Other times we have had the talent but not the manager, maybe our time will come as we have some very good players but who knows.

I have to say I was baffled by the decision on Owen but clearly this was correct.
