Would Fabian Hurzeler be a good replacement for RDZ?

Not the last time I checked, but I can't see my bits any more, so anything could have happened.

Have you considered this scenario - Fab meets a lovely Portslade girl, but she tires of Brighton, and wants to live in Chelsea instead?

Nightmare.
As Samuel Johnson never said "When a Portslade girl is tired of Brighton, she is tired of life; for there is in Brighton all that life can afford, or there will be when Ikea take over the old Debenhams."

f*** me, how are we back on Potter, AGAIN?!?
Derailing thread? Boredom? Obsession? 🙄

Not sure why all the sensible discussion is going on other threads though but not this one - it’s not like it’s different topic?

Trying to get the thread topic back on track - there is a good piece on Sky Sports online today - with FH’s background, work at FCSP and tactics (much of which has been discussed) but without the heady technical detail that you get with a lot of high end analytics:

Enjoy

@Bozza etc Mods

- is there any change of merging the Hurzeler threads so this one gets back on track please? - it’s really frustrating for those of us who are still interested in discussing FH’s style of play, how he sets up his squad and want to continue with the earlier discussion on this thread about our new manager, his tactics and style etc without having to wade through so many off topic posts just read and answer the relevant ones?
Agree 100%.

Btw, does Graham Potter still live in Hove? He could be a good choice if we don't get Hurzeler to agree terms.

On Monday evening, the clubs involved also agreed on the transfer fee for the promotion coach. It smashes all previous records that the brown and white team have generated."

The Abendblatt has information from the island that Brighton will pay a high single-digit million amount. Realistically, around 7.5 million euros. There will also be performance-related bonuses, for example if Brighton reaches European competitions.

Nemeth and Knoop are said to be staying. Brighton already have a renowned goalkeeping coach in Jack Stern.

Not everything has been finalized yet, formalities still need to be clarified...

But according to the Abendblatt, there is no longer any doubt that it will soon be over. Hürzeler has been preparing for his future role at Brighton for days.

Apparently all the players have unfollowed him on twitter / Instagram. According to their message board

£6.3m still sounds a little high as a one off payment. But fair play to st Pauli for negotiating that if true.

It sounds about right to me given who he is and how much FCSP relied on his style of play to get promoted - losing FH increases the risk of them yoyoing back down into the 2.Bundesliga next season (so obviously high) - it will cost us more than that with the performance related payments mentioned above , any sell on fee etc

I think we must have really wanted this guy.

£5m from RdZ would soften the blow

Why is this a high fee?

He is possibly their single most important employee. St. Pauli are doing their calculations to find out what offers the best chances of survival. I don't think it would be too wrong of them if their view is that him leaving or staying could be the difference between relegation or staying up. I think they've got every right to demand a lot for him.

And he'll hopefully be the same to us.

I think modern head coaches are undervalued
