Also, me too! I don’t know why but it’s as if a huge cloud of depression has been lifted that’s been hanging over us over the last few weeks, if not months. The anti climax of a season petering out so tamely and RDZ leaving, then the exasperatingly long (so it seemed) search for a new manager seemingly fruitless - then bingo!

The curviest curved ball from the furthest left of the left field is revealed - so Brighton, so brilliant, and so wonderfully uplifting for us fans. I’m buzzing and can’t wait for the official announcement and the start of the season.

Please, Gods of Football, let this all happen without raining on our parade or dumping a load of shit on proceedings - thank you very much.

I remember that match… grim, but I tend to agree… the recruitment/squad was absolutely wretched… so much so that it took a while for (a then) at the top of his game CH to turn things round.

I remember the first game that season: a strike force of O'Grady and Fenelon. To be fair to Hyypia, it wasn't exactly Murray and Zamora. Poor Sami, I don't think he was a great manager but anyone would have struggled with that squad

Yep… Fenelon … sigh, the dice were loaded… however, tactically he should have been a smidgen more pragmatic, alas he was way too adventurous given what he must have witnessed in training ? Funnily enough, perhaps he was ahead of the curve, in terms of shape etc. perhaps without the training methods/players to realise his ambition… or he just was a very average coach… lol.
