How do you get them umlouts over the u on a puter keyboard? I've been trying for half an hour

On a Mac, hold the U key down - it will give you a numbered choice of U with different accents. Works on Word for Mac fine

I'm on my phone rather than windows right now, but usually at the bottom of that dialog there is an alt code you can use. I use it for inserting £ (off hand, i think it's alt 0163, maybe) on my otherwise US keyboard. If you use a particular symbol often (and it fits indeed have an alt code), it may be worth learning

Is it just me that finds people banging on about St Pauli's values and culture incredibly irritating?

It's how you build an identity I guess. It is important for the fans too. The other club in Hamburg, Hamburger Sports Verein(HSV) has more right wing fans. And if you go to (Hansa) Rostock, you'll find a lot of right wing extremist right ultras.

It is also great for branding. I admit that this identity is the main reason St. Pauli is "my club" in Germany.

In fact I'd hope Brighton would use social awarenes in the creation of a global brand like the one St. Pauli has. With the large LGBTQ-culture in Brighton there is a great oportunity to do just that.
