Tempting.....very tempting! Can't make it up to Manc so would be a great alternative to watch on the box. I already have Superfan status: ask Yorkie re: Blackburn and Newcy away, on our run to the Quarter Finals.:cool::cool:

"We all follow the youth team, over land and sea....and Palace!" ;)

They were good games.
We paid for the month this afternoon.

Albion's under-18s will get the chance to play on one of the most famous stages in the world after the venue for their FA Youth Cup third round tie was confirmed as Old Trafford.
United normally play their home youth team games at Norwich Victoria, but the third round FA Youth Cup clash with the Seagulls will now be held at the Theatre of Dreams on Thursday 13th December, kick-off 7pm.

Albion secured the wonder tie after a convincing 3-0 win at Bristol Rovers in round two.
Director of Football Martin Hinshelwood said, "It's one of the most well known stadiums in the world, so the opportunity for us to play there is brilliant.
"I'm pleased that Manchester United have decided to stage the game at Old Trafford, so all credit to them as well.
"It will be a great occasion, and a brilliant experience for all of the boys. It's great for the whole club."
Albion fans wishing to make the journey can pay on the gate; entry will be £5 for adults, £2 for concessions.

Albion's youngsters have been hit with a major disppointment ahead of Thursday's FA Youth Cup third-round tie at Manchester United.

The youngsters had been due to play the tie at Old Trafford - but due to the wet weather and concerns about the pitch, the game will now be played at nearby Northwich Victoria.

Manchester United made the switch to the Victoria Stadium, home of the Blue Square Premier side, after the Old Trafford pitch deteriorated during their 4-1 win over Derby County on Saturday.

To get to the VIctoria Stadium, exit the M6 at junction 19 and follow the A556 towards Northwich for approximately 3 miles.

Turn right onto the A559 towards Lostock, then right at the traffic lights immediately before the Slow and Easy public house.

Take a left at the crossroads by the Black Greyhound public house and follow the road until the Renault Garage, on the left, then turn left into Wincham Avenue. The nearest railway station is Northwich, which is two miles from the stadium.

Pity but it is still better than Withdean. Do you like Italian food?

Should be a really good atmosphere in a smaller ground rather than a deserted Old Trafford? The ends at Northwich Victoria are open.

This is all www.manutd.com has to say about it so far:

Youth Cup tie switched

United's FA Youth Cup third round tie against Brighton & Hove Albion has been moved away from Old Trafford.

Thursday's match will now be hosted at the Victoria Stadium, Northwich, with a 7pm kick-off.

More details will appear on ManUtd.com soon.

Smart looking ground: www.northwichvics.co.uk

Nothing about ticket prices yet, from BHA nor ManU,

Those open terraces should sort out those fans who really really want standing brought back to League grounds!

Tuesday night and still no more info from ManU about the game.

No info for visiting fans, which in this case is both sides.

Nothing more on our Club site.

In fact, our Youth Team fixtures list doesn't even list this game, which must be one of the the most prestigious matches our young hopefuls are likely to play in.

btw, have discovered that parking is £2 at Northwich, rather than £10 at OT.

What Northwich Victoria know about the Youth Cup ...

I telephoned the stadium just now:

This match is the first for the youth team - who will be playing their next game here next week also.

Their ground is the regular ground for Manu Reserves.

They are expecting two coaches from Brighton – presumably these are the team and friends and relations, not Supporters Club coaches? Nothing else known about other BHA support.

ManU have told them they expect about 500 ManU supporters are likely to turn out.

Prices are same as announced for Old Trafford - £5 adults, £2 concessions – and same for terrace or seated stands.

Car parking at the ground for 300 cars, at £2.

They have a bar - The Sports Bar - and burger stands (I rudely asked about nearby pubs, but they didn’t unbend!).

They have had several calls from Brighton supporters asking for info! They sounded surprised that there was little or nothing about this match on either the ManU website, and consequently ours also.

Nothing new so far on either site, unchanged since Monday

- this match has suddenly appeared on their fixture list, since last night!

Can we win?

ManU are third in their local Academy League after 15 games with 28 points, so they don’t win them all.

They are just 1 point ahead of Crewe who have a game in hand – well done Dario!, but 10 points behind the leaders – ManCity - would you believe!

They do have a squad of 27 to pick from, we have just 15 – so no sick notes allowed!

Although Man U have a squad of 27 they are not all eligible under the rules of the competition especially Brandy & Hewson.

Man U offer 3 year scholarships and their 3rd years are usually too old as boys have to have not reached the age of 18 as at midnight 31 August. For this season boys must have been born on or after 1 September 1989.

The confusion though does not help in the in the FA Youth Premier League you are allowed to play 4 over age players up to a certain age but this does not apply in the FA Youth Cup.

You presume incorrectly because it is the Supporter's club who are running the coaches. Yes, Liz is taking some parents as wellbut there are supporters on the coach.

Sorry Yorkie, but an easy mistake to make, given the lack of info and publicity, starting with ManU - their only message still just says:

How soon is soon?

Plenty of people have been asking for info, anybody in the know could/should have been putting it up where it could be seen. The main links have been put up – there just isn’t much there when you look.
