Crofts with the 92nd minute winner...Exeter away, for old times sake.
I can remember sloping along there one time for an evening game when Kuipers was crocked, and we had this 9ft goalie called Brezovan warming up for his debut. We were on an open terrace, and it absolutely honked it down all night. We went back to the car completely drenched to our undercrackers, but I think we won 1-0.
Yes. Exeter.
Back in 1992 I went to Mansfield for the first time. We had to get a bus from Nottingham (15 miles). I believe there is a line there now. I don't recall any other grounds that involved a long bus journey for train supporters like that one.Mansfield/Wigan - at home!
Mansfield train station reopened in 1995, having originally closed in the 60s. It was the largest town to not have a train station open. The station is only about 8 mins walk to the ground now.Back in 1992 I went to Mansfield for the first time. We had to get a bus from Nottingham (15 miles). I believe there is a line there now. Dagenham/Milwall. Just being pragmatic as either side are beatable and if we are drawn [against Dagenham] as the away side it’s not far to travel.
