How pissed off would you be if you were celebrating winning the FA Cup and they started playing that shit Black Eyed Peas song "What a Feeling" or whatever it's called? What a bunch of knobs.

Don't think chelsea fans know much different. They've only been going a couple of years.:jester:

? you watching a different game? Portsmouth where shite, Chelsea could and should have embaressed them.

It is Chelsea who will remember this match with embarrassment - Pompey with pride.

We all know Chelsea are more skilled, and given recent results for each team you could say why even bother to play the match - just give the Cup to Chelsea, and we can all go straight to the pub.

Much the same as BHA vs United, all those years ago - never forgotten by us, despite the result.

Is that the group that Cheryl is touring with, if so think Ashley Cole would be the most upset. Dont like Chelsea but glad they beat the cheats pity the FA didnt have the balls to do it.

Pretty sure Chelsea won't remember winning the FA cup as an embarrassment. Pompey will remember it for the Boateng penalty, and riding their luck with the number of times their goalframe was struck, but they will know they were well beaten.

Nope. The question was "when did they stop making goalposts out of wood?" the answer was "they still do".

I asked the question in in response to the "post" - "What a strike, woodwork is playing so well for Portsmouth", referring to Wembley today.

Not sure how the Goldstone is currently relevant, but ironically the picture that keeps getting posted is an old scan of MY t-shirt! (from Clubs in Crisis)

And once again people suddenly hate JT because of something OFF the pitch. Everyone liked him a few months ago - get over it - it's nothing to do with football.

And you hate everything he stands for? By the looks of it the last few weeks he stand for being the winning Captain of the 2 biggest trophies in English football. Moral high ground anyone?

Chris Benoit was one of the best wrestlers ever, Gary Glitter produced some toe tapping tunes, Roman Polanski made some decent movies, and OJ Simpson was a pretty good NFL player.

Sometimes, what people do in their private lives change peoples' opinion of them. This isn't unusual, wrong, or unjustified.

What a ridiculous comparison. How you compare the serious crimes of those people with what JT did?

Not all the John Terry haters are fickle enough to have ever taken to him. He continues to strengthen my first impressions of him.

I don't think it's all that ridiculous. It's about separation of what someone does as part of their career and who they are as a person. The examples may be a bit more extreme, but it shows that there are things that people can do in their private lives that affect how you see their professional careers. Or does it? Some people, I'm sure will still be able to enjoy Benoit matches or Gary Glitter songs, but for many others it's a no go.

After that it becomes about boundaries of acceptability - what one consider to be too far, for some domestic abuse is too far, for some it's paying for an abortion for your friend's girlfriend that you impregnated, for some it's serial infidelity.

The comparison may be extreme, but it is certainly not ridiculous.

What he recently done goes to show what personal values he has (if any) and if these are the values that drive his day to day behaviour both away from work and professionally then who needs enemies!

He's a twat!

Maybe...maybe not, still doesn't change my opinion of him!

How many of us would willing cheat on our best mates missus, how many married would happily cheat on their wife whom has had your children...certainly not me

He made a mistake. move on. No-one is saying he wasn't in the wrong but I bet you have made mistakes you regret in your life, his was a big one I give you that but I'm not going to sit here and judge the man and abuse him just because he cheated on his wife. If that was the case I would abuse A LOT of people.

Perhaps I'm to forgiving though.

It's not just about this incident as far as I am concerned. It is a catalogue of bad behaviour, arrogance and disregard for many. Just an all round bad egg who has been lucky enough to play football in an era that makes him more than just a working class hero (thanks to Gary Imlach).

I've never cheated on my girlfriends. I'd wager most of the people that criticise Terry for doing so haven't either. I imagine the people who answer with "oh and you've never cheated" are largely made up of men who have and try to justify it with "all guys do it"£ so perhaps find it hard to comprehend not all men cheat.

Even so, what is wrong with holding sporting heroes or role models to a higher standard? When you are the centre of adulation, when you represent people, be it your club or your country, why should you not be held to a higher standard?
