'Loaning' is the key word here, perhaps? We do play young loanees in our first team (Brown, Tomori, Akpom (shudder), etc.) but players who are actually ours do seem to go into a sort of Bermuda Triangle of U233s never to be seen again (I know the academy is new, and I hope that will change in years to come).
