Konza would only go into the DS and disappear into the football equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle with all the other young players that we have signed and have never been seen again.

What happened to the highly-rated centre-back that we signed from Motherwell? What has happened to the Czech right-back that we signed from Viktoria Plzen, the champions-elect of the Czech Republic? The young Dutch winger that we signed in the summer has already been offloaded. There are several other similar cases that I could mention. We signed the sought-after Adam Chicksen, and look what happened to him. We turned one of our own, JFC, from an enterprising, attack-minded midfielder into a plodding carthorse who could not pass the ball more than five yards and then only backwards or sideways. What might we yet do to Connor Goldson and his career?

Aren't you a bundle of joy this morning. On the flip side you could be excited about signing an England U20 World Cup winner for 6m.

It's a double edged sword, change too much too quickly and you lose the team spirit. I think this considered approach is the right one.

We're still in a good position to stay up and can now off load some of our unwanted players for premier league prices.
Agreed with you up to there. Premier League prices for, say, LuaLua, Maenpaa, Skalak and Rosenior at the moment are, how much......?

Did we? Or did the club just outpace his progress?

You don't pay £8 million and chuck him into the Dev Squad.

Despite Naylor's previous comments this would have to be the Goldson stand in.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Was thinking more Hemed and Baldock, If we manage to sign Mitrovic.

The Monaco model seems to be the only way for clubs to pass FFP and be fairly successful on the field at the same time.

You sign players when they are young for under £10million blood them in the first team so they create a buzz and can be sold for a much higher price. This is then repeated over and over again. The biggest clubs (City, Utd, PSG, Real, Barca) will always make enough money playing at the top/through global markets to pay the ludicrous prices and the club are clearly hoping to profit off of this system.

If we sell Dunk for 30mill to a Liverpool/Arsenal in the summer, Goldson has a good season the following year (providing we stay in the PL), he goes to a bigger club for 20-25million (more if the market grows) and we replace him with Konsa...

Can't afford to leave ourselves with three (or possibly two) available strikers. We may have just about got away with it so far this season, but it would be madness to adopt it as policy.

REDS DROP KONSA INTEREST

Charlton defender Ezri Konsa will stay at the Valley despite interest from Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail.

The report suggests the Reds were unwilling to match the League One club's £5m valuation of the player.
