And arguably unlucky vs Villa.....

We were and yet the pundits were ******* themselves silly about how well Villa have adjusted to the Premier League yesterday. If we’d played them without Grealish (as Liverpool did yesterday) and without Mooy’s sending off we’d have won convincingly imo. Yet to see pundits ******* themselves off about the Albion, just a pretty grudging “doing better than expected after sacking CH” or that Potter has changed the style.

Used to it though and probably best if we continue to be considered to be making up the numbers. Even on MOTD last night it seemed to be more about Norwich than the Albion.

That's my point, with a fair few posters.

The team has back to back great home wins, both very different yet very accomplished.
They are 8th in the current false dawn Premier League table with a fair few dropped points under their belt.

Yet posters X, Y & Z are rushing on here to Arsenalise the place.

I get the desire to reflect a couple of days down the line.
But a couple of minutes just leaves my flabber agast, what's the point.

But equally Stat whilst I do like the majority of your posts, (I really do), it seems at times you don’t always like constructive discussion, and if we all agreed NSC would be a lesser place.

BG for example is entitled to his opinion and actually is often right on a number of things. (I haven’t seen the criticism of Alzate, but would find that difficult TBH).

Similarly, some of the other criticisms don’t seem to be welcomed, probably my own included (but doesn’t really worry me, as I know I’m right [emoji6][emoji2]).

Potter is doing great, I still don’t like the defensive frailty, but difficult to argue with two clean sheets in three home games.

I’ll take 8th, in fact I’ll take 16th....

It'll be interesting to see how far up the league we can get without being noticed!

I don't suppose a lucky win against a Manchester United side in transition will make much difference..................

An Albion win at Old Trafford? Guaranteed to be “what has gone wrong at United” for 95% of the post match discussion.

Quite they’re their for the taking, and we are above them FFS, so how much of an upset is it? [emoji6]

Can I just add the caveat that although I think we have a chance I will be very happy if we come away with a point. I expect nothing is the most likely scenario though.

He is a free spirit in a way and great to watch as he is unpredictable .
I'm glad GP has shown faith in him when CH had no faith in him.
You go to football to be entertained and he certainly does that in the time he is on the pitch

I did indeed laugh when he shot. But not at him, more with him - laughing in pleasure. It was such fun to see him playing like that, 2-0 up, having fun - why not enjoy an extrovert flair player having an unlikely go at goal. And think what it would have been like if it had gone in.

Oh I completely agree, I just don't understand.

We go to be entertained, and by Jimminy we are getting that in spades.
The season is 11 games old, we had no idea what to expect, but we're 8th and thinking we should be higher.

It's much the same as Propper's second half performance.

I left the ground thinking he was quite magnificent.
Yet the very mention of that just a couple of hours later is met with:-

'but he was pretty poor in the first half'.

To me that's Tuesday thinking, not straight after the game.

I made the mistake of listening to 606 last night, I just needed more football.
The programme was filled with unhappy Arsenal fans, like it has been for the last 20 years.

We've had so many downs with hints of great glory.
We're lucky enough to be at the start of our second fantastic run, in 5 years and the only take away we have is 'well Alzate can't shoot'.

Some of us are just Arsenal in disguise, and it gets on my tits.

That’s fair enough.

I like to dissect it immediately, the good bad and the ugly. However, I am a bit of a moaner, (more frustration I guess), but equally enjoy the great moments.

The Popper thing, as per our other discussion he spent the first 30 on a different planet, but he certainly got into the game from then on and dictated most of it.

The outside of the foot pass to set Trossard away was sublime.

The other standout for me which actually created debate afterwards was Alzate in the first half. I liked that his first touch took three of their defenders out of the game prior to shooting, whilst colleagues wanted him to shoot first time.

Good win against a potential rival

Middle tier front row. Saw the curl, but given the amount of time he had, he barely wrapped his foot around it.

As I said there were groans and amusement around me, I certainly wasn’t the only one. It was just all a bit comical, given the amount of space and time ..... [emoji2]

Incidentally he probably would try and dribble around Salah in his own box [emoji6]

To be fair on him, I thought they’d put him on in front of Montoya rather than on the left side, where he actually had to use his standing foot...

I just wonder what his celebration will be like if he does score.

Edit - I think he’ll crowd surf

To be fair we did tell him to shooooot. If he ever scores I feel he will transcend to a higher plane omitting a burst of light.

The longer they think its a fluke and they made us look good the longer we get to hold on to Dunk and Trossard. I think we have a really good chance if they underestimate us and dont do the research into our formations (confuses the hell out of me and I am obsessed with that stuff).

If we get a result and they blame it on United and what they could have done all the better.

Yep! And file that under any of the following :

It’s only Brighton

We should be beating teams like Brighton

With all due respect to Brighton

Brighton are at best lower mid-table team

Brighton are punching above their weight

Plucky little Brighton

Brighton get the rub of the green winning 6-0

How can Brighton be above us in the table

Brighton will be in the relegation zone by Christmas

. . . . . . and so on and so forth.

Mentioned Brighton far too many times it would be what United should do to improve, why United are underperforming, should United keep Ole, who United should be playing as a striker, this is not acceptable for United, who should United buy in the next transfer window (everyone).

I'd love to see our 3 give Slabhead a torrid time.
While Dunk has a game requiring his shorts with the extra large pockets.

I feel like I need to reign it in a bit or else I'm going to be a mess by Wednesday let alone Sunday!
