IMO Andy chatting with his old school mate was pretty much identical to Brent-Finchey converstaions in the Office. Definitely not as good as the first series, which was awesome

The point is it's not a pick up and go sitcom, it's something that grows on you with each episode. It's riddled with in jokes and specific character references and if you've not kept up then chances are you won't find it all that.

As a complete work however I think it's very very good

I didn't find it that funny but it's watchable.

Anyway, not as big a fall from grace as "Saxondale" though.

That was shocking, and I can watch Alan Partridge time and time again.

It actually had me holding my sides tonight when he was trying to chat up that bird and then opened the bottle of sparkling water he was spinning...

Ian McKellen was quite funny. But on the whole Stephen Merchant has been funnier than Gervais in the series.

I am getting bored now of the awkward silences, atleast 3 or 4 every episode.

Sorry but whilst humour varies from person to person (how can anybody find Bernard Manning funny ?) I thought tonight's episode was hilarious although the end was a bit weak.

So far I think all the episode have been excellent but agree Merchants character is the funniest without doubt.

Probably the worst episode of the series so far, I thought the week befores was the best. Still a fantastic comedy in my opinion, I don't think there is anything better comedy-wise at the moment.

Extras 6.7

for me (in a Mike Channon voice) the highlight of the 90 mins comedy last night was Mitchell & Webb's alcoholic in the corner shop sketch...

Mitchell and Webb was good last night, and that was indeed a very funny sketch.

Mind you, Mock the Week was also quality, especially the "lines you'd never hear in a Bond film":

"I see Q, that's ingenius. So not only is it a bomb, it's also a rucksack" :D :D :D :D :D :D

agreed... the host is excellent - very witty - and the guests all chipped in well especially for the improv round... The James Bond stuff was good, as were "TV Programmes That Were Never Shown"... "Blind Date with Stevie Wonder" :lolol:

Just seen this weeks Extras on BBC website.

I just watched it on BBC

Very good...some laugh out loud stuff:the dinner party

Actually I thought the play thing was very good....I am not sure if he is trying tio make a serious point, or just trying to play it for laughs.

Ian McKellans hand pushing him towards the Fran was very funny
