This looks like another gem of a program from the BBC with Simon Reeve a very good travel presenter who was the star of the recent brilliant series "Tropics Of Capricorn".

This one seems to be travelling through Argentina and what has been publicised so far looks very promising - BBC2 21:00hrs.

The trailers certainly caught my eye, compulsive viewing for anyone with even a passing interest in South America...probably worth watching for just the scenery and culture even if you don't.

That's the thing that gets me..

The Beeb is consistently putting out decent stuff, far outweighing ITV/C4/C5 and the original content on Sky1(it's not fair to count the US imports) but yet some people still wish to use Wossy or whoever to beat them with a stick and call them out of touch and dated.

Far from it, and I'm sure today's show will prove it.

What an amazing ground, how high and steeped were the terraces and what a crowd celebration for the goal.

Wasn't quite what I was expecting, but an excellent programme nonetheless, that bishop bloke was mad as a box of frogs wasn't he. Argentina is definitely on the list of countries to go and see, Patagonia looks stunning, might avoid the rougher parts of Buenos Aires though.

I would Love to go back to Argentine and go to Patagonia. Looks stunning. Besides the rough bits. Buenos Aires is very safe. I even had a few tango lessons. I was shit. They also do stadium tours as well as matches. I missed out as the Mrs was shit scared. Thanks Danny Dyer. You Muppet

I spent one day in Argentina, at Iguassu Falls, we were staying on the Brazilian side of the border and crossed over to see what the falls looked like from the other side of the canyon. It was a bit of an odd experience, at the border was a sign with the map of the Falklands...stating that they belonged to Argentina!

We did the Iguassu falls. Also stayed on the Brazillian side. I was like a little kid looking at my mobile phone as the time changed as we went over the border. Did the forest tour on the back of an old Argie truck. The guide wasn't impressed when he asked where we came from

I was on a road trip from La Paz to Rio...which still rates well inside the top ten things I have ever done...Iguassu was stunning, though I spent about 10 days in Brazil and it rained on all but one, which was the day we chose to go for a boat trip off Parati. We nearly didn't get into Argentina, the border guards didn't like the look of our British registered truck, but they still let us through on foot...we had to take taxis to and from the falls.

It pissed it down a lot when we were there. then I realised why it was called a rain forest :dunce:. Thought Rio was a bit of a dump. The beach football world cup kept us entertained though.

I stayed on Copacabana in Rio, which was more than acceptable, but some bits of the city were a bit rough. My only disappointment was that there were no games on at the Maracana while I was there, did get to go on a tour of the stadium and just had to let my imagination run...the only other problem with the weather was that the top of Sugarloaf and the statue were in cloud for the duration of my stay...bummer, guess I will have to go back again sometime.

Good prog.

Watched it and recorded Lost. Last night was one of those nights when there were a few progs I wanted to watch on at the same time. 9pm.

There was the play about euthanasia in Switzerland. (saw the end) new prog on BBC3 about 3 people with special powers - bound to be repeated and the skate off (you know, the prog where Todd Carthy never seems to fall over - crap skater)
