Would love to see someone added to the coaching staff to look after our strikers, we have Tarricco who was a top defender, Poyet who was a superb midfielder but feel we need a specialist coach for the strikers maybe Robbie Fowler or Jimmy Flloyd Hasselbaink. Striker wise I would be happy to sign Vokes on a permanant as he could be great once settled and big investment should be on a goalkeeper and creative midfielder for me

We should plunder West Brom for Cox, Fortune and Reyes and Mattock.

Heskey wouldn't score 20 goals in a pub league

Having seen Heskey play several times at the Dell and St Mary's he is a very good player and exactly the type of player you need. Could see him only going to Leicester if he was to drop down though.

Yeh he was a good player when you had the dell, so was Matt Le Tissier ??? Things change. Heskey is no spring chicken. What we have lacked is a prolific goalscorer. Without Lambert you would never have finished in the automatic positions. Heskey is not our answer

I was just having a think, a few names came into my head. One player I think would be a realistic signing is Stokes Ricardo Fuller, Hardly ever gets a look in now and I think he'd grace our team.

Another obvious one is Simon Cox, who's looking to leave WBA in order to get first team football, a player who a lot of us would like to see here.

Newcastle Utd are looking to offload Leon Best as well, I think he'd be a decent signing as well but his wages may be a concern.

And also Swansea's Leroy Lita

What are your thoughts?

I personally think we'll keep hold of CMS and Barnes, sign another striker (most likely Vokes) and then wonder why we're not scoring goals ! We need Championship experienced strikers.

Simon Cox would be ideal. I also mentioned Fuller to the old man when talking about this the other other day.
Lita's rep isnt great, off the field he's not been the greatest influence wherever hes been since Reading. Bent would be a good signing too. Wages could be an issue but if we got him on a free at the end of his contract the saving we would make paying no transfer fee would probably allow us to pay him a decent wedge.

This statement cannot be quantified. Lambert has scored 27 of 80. Had we sold him, we would have bought someone else. We really are a one man team aren't we?

Going on what I've seen with my own eyes, pretty much, yes.

In our game at SMS he scored all three, and cheated to win one of the pens.

In the game at the Amex you were competitive until he went off, then you turned into a pub team and got slaughtered.

I remember watching your home game against Leicester, when he was missing, and the rest of your dimwits just pumped hopeful balls to the far post all game, to where he would have been.

This type of thread is getting boring now. It's being posted every day. And the same names are being posted. Riccardo Fuller would be glorious, as would Simon Cox and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

Leroy Lita :lolol: No, thanks.

100% correct

Oh and against Blackpool when he was out injured a couple of weeks ago they got stuffed.

So... yeah they are a one man team

not just his goalscoring, but overall play with team mates. i watched saints vs blackpool where lambert didn't play and you looked dreadful. Would 100% not even been close without him

I don't want Reyes, thanks, whoever suggested a mass signing of West Brom players.

And can anyone enlighten me as to Cox's scoring record in the Championship?

He was prolific at Swindon for a year or to, but I can't remember him hitting loads for WBA.

That is the bit I dont agree with I hope that we steer well clear of him as he has proved to be no better than what we have and is definitely not the answer to our goalscoring problems. Wolves are bottom of the league above us and their problem is lack of goals but they never considered calling Vokes back and that speaks volumes for his goalscoring ability.
