Experienced Championship strikers (realistic)

I was just having a think, a few names came into my head. One player I think would be a realistic signing is Stokes Ricardo Fuller, Hardly ever gets a look in now and I think he'd grace our team.

Another obvious one is Simon Cox, who's looking to leave WBA in order to get first team football, a player who a lot of us would like to see here.

Newcastle Utd are looking to offload Leon Best as well, I think he'd be a decent signing as well but his wages may be a concern.

And also Swansea's Leroy Lita

What are your thoughts?

I personally think we'll keep hold of CMS and Barnes, sign another striker (most likely Vokes) and then wonder why we're not scoring goals ! We need Championship experienced strikers.

Leon Best would be brilliant, Ricardo Fuller is far too injury prone and not a massive fan of Leroy Lita he can be very hot and cold.

If Michael Owen can stay fit what about him?
Also i wonder if Jason Roberts will stay at Reading or will they let him go back to Blackburn, if so then we should have a pop at getting him as well.

Gotta laugh - look at the title then the thread starts by specifically naming a Premier League striker! Says it all about what we need IMO. Fuller or Heskey (yeah, yeah but he is still seriously quick for a big man and still plays with committment )
And I can't believe Lita will be available but if he is then he is worth more than "a go" and won't be looking at accepting a short term contract when there will be a queue of clubs after him. Jay Rodriguez is a great talent but Premier League bound surely?

The problem with the sort of players we "need" is that they are not players we can afford - that is the discussion Gus needs to have with TB bearing in mind that you can't pay one player big money and expect the rest to settle for League 1 wages = we are seriously out of step with the Championship big boys and bridging the gap may take years if it is achievable at all.

Yeah i totally agree mate, however saying that we outbid a lot of other clubs with a lot more funds (e.g West Ham, Leicester etc) to land CMS, so it depends what we can offer any potential player, they might not get the best wage in the world and i know most players are only excited about the wage bill, but surely from a football point of view they've got to look at the way we play, the potential we have going forward and our lovely stadium, our ambition is great at the moment and this season has been one of our best for years, we are definately a club on the up and i cant see why players looking for first team football wouldnt want to be part of what Gus, Tano and Charlie are trying to achieve.

Fuller would be great, but very injury prone

I think we'll get somebody from Germany or Spain that nobody has heard of and I bet they're the bollocks :)
I have it on GOOD authority we're looking at someone from the MEXICAN league.
